VERO BEACH — Culture Vultures were out in force for the unveiling of the 2009-2010 Cultural Event Planner at the Cultural Council of Indian River County Kickoff Celebration. The winner of this year’s cover competition was Kristen Knudsen with her whimsical, iconic Culture Vulture design. The other finalists in the cover competition were J. Scott Kelly, Minakshi De and Christina Tascon.
Representatives from non-profit organizations, the arts community and local government were all on hand to pick up their first copies of the publication. Approximately 140 organizations submitted items for the printed calendar, which is updated and supplemented throughout the year on the Cultural Council’s website calendar. Guests wandered through the Cultural Council offices and the lobbies of the historic Theatre Plaza, sampling the food and wine donated by Chuck Lamm of the New Patio Restaurant, yummy little cupcakes from Classy Cupcakes by Debi and iced tea from Tea & Chi.
The public is invited to visit the Cultural Council office, 2036 14th Avenue, to pick up their own copies of the free calendar.{igallery 37}
