Walter J. Ghetti, 93, died Aug. 12, 2009, at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach. He was born in Natick, Mass., and lived on Cape Cod, Mass., while spending many winters in Vero Beach.
During World War II, he was a shop steward at the Fall River Shipyard, constructing many warships. He owned and operated many automotive businesses in Massachusetts. He was a member of the Rotary Club and the Knights of Columbus, where he was a 4th-degree Knight. He served as the King Lion of the Lions Club. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Eva; daughters, Judith Ommen, of Austin, Texas, and Pamela Reeve, of Vero Beach; son, Peter Michael Ghetti, of Cape Cod; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
