VERO BEACH — If you’re interested in learning what it takes to be a Youth Guidance mentor, you are invited to attend the July Mentor Orientation Dinner 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 14 at the United Way Building in Vero Beach. The Youth Guidance Mentoring and Activities Program seeks volunteers for activities that help enrich the lives of at-risk children in Indian River County. Dinner will be provided.
Volunteers are always needed for activities such as the Good Grades Pool Party, which celebrates children who had good or improved grades in the 2008-09 school year. The Pool Party takes place 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday July 25 at the Gifford Aquatics Center and 150 volunteers are needed. Information: Call (772) 226-3092.
