Carmella Maria Phillips, 88, of Sebastian, died July 26, 2009, at William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay. She was born March 14, 1921, in Italy and was a resident of Sebastian since 1999 coming from Hollywood.
Mrs. Phillips was a retired waitress, had worked for Westview Country Club for over 30 years and had volunteered for the Red Cross, the Food Banks, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Auxiliary of Sebastian River Medical Center and several Thrift Stores. Survivors include her son Christopher Phillips, of Atlanta, Ga., daughter, Jennifer Reilly of Ft. Lauderdale; brothers, Albert DeFilippo, of Ocala, Joseph Phillips, of Sebastian; sisters ,Josie Cannon, of Stuart, Eva Lewis, of Sebastian, Marie, of Sebastian, and Teresa Goldsmith, of Chicago; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy L. Phillips, and sister, Cathy DeFilippo .

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 1, at Sebastian Cemetery, Sebastian, with Dr. Rev. Ron Thomas officiating.
