Linda Moore, Tracey Zudans and John M. Carroll Jr. won the three open seats in Tuesday’s general election for Vero Beach City Council, according to the Indian River County Supervisor of Elections website. Five other candidates trailed behind in the vote count.
Zudans had 15 percent of votes, while Moore and Carroll had 14 percent of votes.
Rosario won the District 2 seat for the Indian River County School Board. Rosario competed against Cynthia Gibbs in a runoff race for the school board seat.
Both candidates, along with two others, ran in the August Primary Election. A winner was not declared for the primaries since no candidate earned more than 50 percent of the votes.
School board races are nonpartisan. School board member candidates must win at least 50 percent of the vote to avoid a runoff before the general election.
The majority of voters made choices to approve the referendum for the Three Corners Project. The referendum had a 78 percentage for approval, the supervisor of elections office results showed.
