VERO BEACH ART CLUB BRINGS BACK POPULAR MULTI-DAY WORKSHOPS
Vero Beach Art Club is pleased to announce the anticipated return of their popular multi-day Workshops. The first in a series, ‘Drawing and Painting On Mixed Media Collage with Christine Peloquin’ will be offered for three days – Friday through Sunday November 12, 13 and 14 from 10am-5pm. Ms. Peloquin, an award winning prolific artist and teacher, hails from the Mt. Dora area. Her work, which can be seen in many galleries and public places such as the Daytona International Airport, is collected widely.
Workshop attendees will be able to study with Christine and also attend one of her exhibits during the same weekend. The workshop will take place at the Vero Beach Art Club Annex, 1903 14th Avenue, and the exhibit will be at Gallery 14, 1911 14th Avenue, both in close proximity to one another – located in the Downtown, Historic Arts District of Vero Beach, FL.
According to Christine: “During the workshop you will learn the joys of painting on mixed media collage as it is applied to working in varying genres, such as portraiture, figures, landscapes, still life and/or abstracts. Students will be encouraged to delve into the fundamentals of both collage and drawing and painting, as they utilize materials and techniques of their choice such as papers, fabrics, gelliplate, mono-printing, found objects, personal photos, incorporation of previous art work, pencil/charcoal drawing, and acrylic paint. The purpose of the Workshop will be to explore new mixed media techniques and excavate each students’ authentic voice in their art. Graphing, free hand drawing, and tracing methods will all be covered and individualized attention will be given at all levels.” A materials list will be sent to the participants.
