“Write in the Middle” Creative Writing Summer Camp

Is there a middle schooler in your life who likes to read, write, or tell stories? Join the Laura (Riding) Jackson Foundation this summer for a Creative Writing Summer Camp! Held on the Mueller Campus of Indian River State College, rising 6th – 9th graders will gather underneath Laura (Riding) Jackson’s historic Pole Barn and engage in activities such as nature journaling, pottery, poetry, historic tours, arts and crafts, and more. Certified teachers will emphasize creative writing skills and each student will be set up with a library card to access every library in the county.

Each camp session will meet from 9am – 2pm, Monday through Friday, for one week. There are three sessions to choose from: June 21 – 25, June 28 – July 2, and July 5 – 9. While students may sign up for multiple sessions, please note that activities are repeated each week. The camp is $150 per week with a 50% reduction for siblings. Scholarships are available.

For more information, please contact the Laura (Riding) Jackson Foundation via email at [email protected], by calling (772) 569-6718, or by visiting www.lrjf.org.

Write in the Middle is partially underwritten by the Susan R. Sheehan Charitable Fund and Quail Valley Charities and is made possible in cooperation with the Brackett Library at IRSC.
