VERO BEACH — A man was arrested after deputies spotted several marijuana plants growing in his front yard, according to an Indian River County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.
John Ingram, 63, of the 4600 block of 38th Avenue, Vero Beach, was charged with six counts of cultivation of marijuana. He was released Friday from the Indian River County Jail on $10,000 bail.
Deputies responded to a call shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday at a home in the 4600 block of 38th Avenue, the report states. They spoke with a man who showed them damage on the north side of his home.
The man told deputies he thought his neighbor, Ingram, was responsible for the damage because of their past altercations, the report states. Deputies went to Ingram’s home and spoke with him.
While talking to Ingram, deputies spotted a marijuana plant growing in the front yard in plain view, the report states. Then, deputies also saw at least five other marijuana plants, with four growing in the ground and one growing out of a plastic pot.
There was a sprinkler and garden hose next to the plants, the report states. Ingram told deputies he grew the plants by feeding them “chicken (expletive)” and by trimming them.
Ingram was arrested and taken to the county jail for booking.
