OSCEOLA COUNTY — A 55-year-old Vero Beach motorcyclist died in a single-vehicle crash Monday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at 8:25 a.m. Monday on Florida’s Turnpike at mile marker 235 in Osceola County, a report from FHP shows. The motorcyclist was traveling northbound when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle went into the median and struck the guardrail.
The impact jolted the motorcyclist off the vehicle and caused the motorcycle to rollover. The driver was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, the report shows.
Further details on the crash and the name of the motorcyclist were not immediately available, pending family notification. The FHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
