The man – identified as Anthony Rudzinski – admitted to officers he used a .22 caliber rifle to fire a shot near the back of the residence, reports show. Rudzinski said the family at the home has been bothering him for 10 years and that he wanted to scare them so they could leave him alone, authorities said.

The bullet pierced through the residence and struck a bathroom window, reports show. No injuries were listed in the report.

Police arrested Rudzinski on a charge of shooting or throwing deadly missile into an occupied dwelling. Rudzinski was held Friday at the Indian River County Jail on $50,000 bond.

Rudzinski’s booking information showed he lived in Barefoot Bay.

Sebastian police spoke with the victim about noon Monday. The victim said he was with his three grandchildren when the bullet struck the home, reports show.

Police reviewed surveillance footage of nearby homes. On video, officers saw a grey Ford pickup truck travel near the back yard of the victim’s residence.

The truck stayed still for about five seconds and then drove off, police said.

Rudzinski came to the Sebastian Police Department Wednesday for a voluntary interview. Rudzinski admitted to driving his vehicle and firing a shot at the victim’s home, reports show.

Rudzinksi told police he threw the firearm into a dumpster at a landfill, authorities said.

Officers arrested Rudzinski and took him to the county jail. Rudzinski has an arraignment at 8:45 a.m. July 3, court records show.
