Raw Space’s Stewards programming presents “Epistolary: A Conversation Between Lines” at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17. Artists and homesteaders Sean Sexton and Michael Kemp will lead a reading and discussion presented in connection with the Stewards exhibition. Admission is free. Rose West, Indian River Land Trust director of land acquisition, will discuss the Florida Wildlife Corridor, wildlife that benefit from protected connections, and the role western Indian River County ranchlands play in maintaining viable habitat corridors. The following week, the organization presents Bob Montanaro of the Pelican Island Audubon Society discussing land crabs in “Creepy Crawly Land Crabs of Florida and Beyond” at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24. The Environmental Learning Center presents two workshops for children this Saturday, Sept. 19. “Little Wonders” runs from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The nature-based program is designed for children ages 2 to 5 and their caregivers, with hands-on activities centered on a monthly theme. Admission is $15 per child. The “Outdoor Wild Living Skills Paddle Adventure” runs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and is for young people ages 10 to 15. It will introduce fundamental paddling strokes and techniques, teamwork, problem-solving, and lagoon and mangrove exploration. Admission is $40 per child. The 4th Annual Golf Tournament to benefit Gifford Academy for the Performing Arts begins with an 8 a.m. shotgun start Saturday, Sept. 19, at Pointe West Country Club, 7500 14th Lane, Vero Beach.
