Space Coast Symphony Orchestra’s “America Together” concert will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center, 1707 16th St. The concert will commemorate 250 years of American liberty through a selection of patriotic favorites and contemporary works by American composers, including traditional selections such as “Shenandoah,” music by John Philip Sousa and an Armed Forces Salute honoring active-duty military members and veterans. Space Coast Symphony Orchestra will also include performances by soprano Beth Green, who will sing “God Bless the USA” and “America the Beautiful,” along with premieres of original compositions by living American composers. The 1776 Colonial Costume Ball runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, July 3, at the Heritage Center, 2140 14th Ave., Vero Beach, as part of the city’s semiquincentennial celebration marking the 250th anniversary of American independence. Guests are invited to dress in colonial-era attire and take part in an evening of themed entertainment designed to reflect the spirit of the nation’s founding period. The Costume Ball will feature live music, colonial dance instruction and a costume contest, along with heavy hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. It will also include interactive elements such as a themed “Crown Conspiracy” experience, as well as performances by groups including Treasure Coast Fife and Drum and music by Fret Knot. The event is limited to 100 attendees, with organizers emphasizing a more intimate atmosphere within the historic downtown venue. Riverside Theatre offers a long weekend lineup of comedy performances, outdoor concerts and youth theater productions. Riverside Theatre’s Comedy Zone will present headliner Carl “Cee-Jay” Jones and feature act Cristy B in shows scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, June 26, and 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Saturday, June 27, with doors opening one hour prior for dining service and table seating priced at $25; the performances are recommended for audiences age 18 and older due to adult content. Riverside Theatre’s Live in the Loop outdoor concert series will run from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. featuring the 20th Street Jazz Band on Thursday, June 25; Reckless Shots Trio on Friday, June 26; and Hot Sauce Moon on Saturday, June 27. Burgers and Brews runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at the Indian River County Fairgrounds, 7955 58th Ave., Vero Beach, as a fundraiser benefiting United Against Poverty. There will be offerings by local restaurants, food trucks and craft breweries for a day of food sampling and community gathering, highlighted by the Best Burger in Indian River County competition. Burgers and Brews will also include live music, vendor booths, a kids’ zone and a car show, along with additional activities such as a pie-eating contest, flip cup contest and participation from classic car and Jeep clubs. The event is designed to provide a family-friendly setting where attendees can spend the afternoon exploring attractions, sampling menu items and supporting a local nonprofit organization. Burgers and Brews organizers say proceeds will help fund programs that provide food, job training and other services to individuals and families in need throughout the community.
