A dizzying array of sights, sounds and scents tempted fairgoers with carney food, games and rides at the 46th annual Firefighters’ Fair at the Indian River County Fairgrounds. Proceeds from the 10-day family-friendly event benefit the Indian River County Burn Fund, scholarships, fairground improvements and other local charitable organizations.

The event featured the full gamut of shows, demonstrations and entertainment, including a Bull Bash Rodeo, a Cowboy Circus, Alligator Wrestling and the Firefighter Training Show, which gives children the opportunity to learn about fire safety.

Additionally, the agricultural endeavors of local youth were showcased through the Indian River County Youth Livestock and Horticulture activities, which promote and encourage the work of 4-H Clubs, Future Farmers of America, and many others. Also in the barn, activities included a whip-cracking contest, and stiff competitions in baked goods, canning and creative crafts.
