Representatives from the Vero Beach Museum of Art, various media, local nonprofits supported by the Windsor Charitable Foundation and other creative types were recently invited to the Gallery at Windsor to view the newest exhibition, Reflection, by British/Bangladeshi artist Rana Begum, which is on display through May 8.

Jane Smalley, Windsor marketing director, introduced some of the docents in attendance, noting that the Gallery is open to the public by appointment on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for morning and afternoon docent-led tours.

“It’s been over a week-long installation; some of the art comes in pieces,” said Smalley. “But we’re very pleased with the result and I hope you enjoy it.”

The artist, who lives and works in London, says she has always been drawn to recognizable industrial materials that have a function, a purpose, such as automobile light reflectors, safety tape, metal or glass panels, and segments of chain link fencing. By imaginatively reframing these elements, she is able to create installations that are compelling and nuanced and which create transformative, immersive experiences.

The exhibit is a collaboration with the SCAD Museum of Art and was curated by Daniel S. Palmer, chief curator at SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design).
