What and Where: On a mild midwinter evening, there may be no better place to dine than on Cobalt’s magnificent oceanfront patio. The torches, the firepit, the sound of the pounding waves combine to turn any dinner into a magical experience. Inside behind the 15-foot-high glass wall, the dark-paneled grill is a good hotel restaurant.
Ambiance/Atmosphere: Fashionable hotel dining.
Must-Try Dishes: Grilled swordfish.
Adult Beverages: Full bar. Good wine selection by bottle or glass.

Price: $$$$
Rating: Four stars
Overall Verdict: On a recent visit, the food and service were both very good. We started with a clam chowder similar to New England-style but with lots of lardons. Very tasty. I ordered a medium rare slice of the oven-roasted prime rib. Way too much to finish. My husband had the prime New York strip prepared Pittsburgh style. Charred on the outside, rare on the inside, the steak was grilled perfectly. Accompanied by a large baked potato and creamed spinach, a classic steakhouse dinner!
