The Senior Resource Association’s Silver Tones choir presents Songs of Peace and Joy for the Holidays at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, in McAfee Hall at the First Presbyterian Church, 520 Royal Palm Blvd., Vero Beach. With so many busy schedules, Riverside Theatre’s Live in the Loop series is a great spot to bring family and friends this weekend. The schedule this weekend features “A Cool Jazz Night,” presented by the professional Fort Pierce Jazz & Blues Society, performing Thursday, Dec. 18; “Jerzi and Her Band” performs Friday, Dec. 19, playing their versions of popular tunes with the unique sound of her electric ukulele covering songs from oldies to today’s hits; and “The Real Deal” plays Saturday, Dec. 20, bringing back the best of rock’s golden era with legendary hits from iconic bands like the Doors, the Zombies, Creedence Clearwater Revival and more. Riverside Theatre is also offering a “Playtime in the Park – Dance Edition” from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, on the outdoor Loop Stage. The free program invites children ages 2 to 5 to dance and interact with performers in a short class built around the theater’s children’s curriculum. Vero Beach will host its annual Jingle and Mingle event on Ocean Drive from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20. “A Christmas Carol: The Musical” runs through Sunday, Dec. 21, at the Vero Beach Theatre Guild. The production, based on Charles Dickens’ classic story, follows Ebenezer Scrooge’s transformation after visits from three ghosts who show him the meaning of kindness and generosity. Performances feature local actors and seasonal music. Tickets range from $17.50 to $40. The Theatre Guild is also holding its annual holiday toy drive through Dec. 21. The Space Coast Symphony Orchestra joins Classical Arts Entertainment for a performance of “The Sleeping Beauty” at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, at the King Center for the Performing Arts, 3865 N. Wickham Rd., Melbourne. The performance begins at 4 p.m. and features Tchaikovsky’s original score played live under the direction of conductor Aaron Collins. The ballet includes international performers and an elaborate stage design with hand-painted sets and detailed costumes. Ticket prices range from $45 to $105. Season passes and flex tickets are not valid for this performance. Classical Arts Entertainment, which has toured the U.S. and Canada for more than a decade, is known for producing visually detailed versions of traditional ballets.
