What and Where: For 30 years, we have been dining at this attractively decorated Tuscan trattoria tucked in the corner of an office building at the southern end of Cardinal Drive. In the early days, we enjoyed the classic dishes of Peppy Amelio. Now for more than a decade, we have savored the stylings of his son, Amadeo.
Ambiance/Atmosphere: Casual yet elegant. Warm and inviting.
Must-Try Dishes: One hot garlic knot isn’t enough! Ask for seconds.
Adult Beverages: Modest wine selection; good house wines.
Reservations: Reservations recommended.
Price: $$
Rating: Three Stars
Overall Verdict: For a great selection of Italian dishes at reasonable prices, this island standby has long been hard to beat. The veal, chicken, seafood and pasta dishes are consistently well prepared, and the eggplant parm is one of the tastier renditions to be found in Vero. The brick-oven pizzas here are among the best around. Service is prompt and friendly. With a great owner, great location, and loyal following, Pomodoro looks set for another 30.
