Update: Here are the unofficial results for the 2025 municipal elections for Vero Beach and Fellsmere. Votes from all precincts have been completely reported.
Vero Beach City Council (Vote for 2)
Taylor J. Dingle Percent: 43.96% Votes: 1,231
Brian Heady Percent: 13.11% Votes: 367
John E. Cotugno Percent: 42.93% Votes: 1,202
Fellsmere City Council (Vote for 2)
Ben Baker Percent: 43.72% Votes: 108
Cesar Gomez Percent: 22.27% Votes: 55
Inocensia Hernandez Percent: 34.01% Votes: 84

Polls closed at 7 p.m. throughout Indian River County after residents cast ballots for their top choices in the Vero Beach and Fellsmere city council elections.
Three candidates are running for two seats on the Vero Beach City Council. Those candidates are Mayor John Cotugno, Councilmember Taylor Dingle and former Councilmember Brian Heady.
Fellsmere’s city council election also has three candidates running for two seats. Those candidates are Councilmember Ben Baker, Councilmember Inocensia Hernandez and political newcomer Cesar Gomez.
Both elections are nonpartisan. City council members are elected to two-year terms.
There were 11,858 active eligible voters in Indian River County for this year’s municipal elections, according to the Supervisor of Elections website. Election officials said 1,837 residents – a 15.49 percent voter turnout – cast their ballots.
There were 1,071 residents who cast their ballots by mail and 766 voted on Tuesday, election day. There was at least one provisional ballot.
There was no early voting for the municipal elections.
