Benefitting Samaritan Center’s Homeless Families
(Vero Beach, Fl) October 9, 2025: Chefs from 11 area yacht, beach and country clubs are simmering up soup for the 33rd Annual Catholic Charities’ Samaritan Center Soup Bowl, Thursday, November 6 at the Heritage Center, Vero Beach (9 a.m.- 7 p.m.) A variety of soup and pottery will be available for donations to help local homeless families.
White bean chicken chili, clam chowder, carrot ginger, navy bean and chicken noodle will be among the soups available for $5 a bowl and $15 per quart at the Heritage Center.
In addition, more than 20 other locations consisting of places of worship, non-profits and local business will make and serve soup at their locations throughout Indian River County. Visit Samaritan Center Soup Bowl for all event details.
Chef Joe Faria of Quail Valley River Club is a long-time Soup Bowl supporter. This year he is making his special chicken noodle soup. “We’re thrilled to once again be making soup for the Soup Bowl. It is a wonderful way that Quail and so many other clubs come together in a show of support for this worthy community initiative.”
Participating club chefs are from Bent Pine Golf Club, Grand Harbor Golf & Beach Club, Indian River Club, John’s Island Golf Club, Orchid Island Golf & Beach Club, Quail Valley River Club, Riomar Country Club, The Moorings Yacht & Country Club, Vero Beach Country Club, Vero Beach Yacht Club, and The Windsor Club.
“We’re so thankful for the clubs and all of our participating locations. At the heart of the Soup Bowl is our belief that every family deserves more than just shelter — they deserve dignity, stability, and hope for a brighter future. These clubs, chefs and our many sponsors bring our mission to life,” said Rene Bireley, Development Manager Samaritan Center.
In addition to soup, the event features over 1,000 hand-crafted pottery bowls made by artists of Indian River Clay available for donations of $20.
“The Soup Bowl tradition is designed to remind us all that many homeless individuals survive on nothing more than a humble bowl of soup each day. We encourage all to join us on November 6 for soup and one-of-a-kind pottery. It will be among the most meaningful donation you can make,” said Bireley.
All Soup Bowl donations support Samaritan Center’s 24/7 care for homeless families, helping parents and children move from crisis to independence. Since its founding, the Center has served 730 families and nearly 1,500 children.
