
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 50-year-old man remained held at the county jail on a $1.2 million bond on Monday after his arrest last week on drug trafficking and firearms charges. Indian River County sheriff’s deputies seized methamphetamine and cocaine, along with a dozen firearms and a variety of other narcotics following an undercover probe that led to the arrest of Andrew Beam.

Beam, of the 700 block of 13th Street, Indian River County, was charged on Friday with two counts of trafficking in methamphetamines; three counts of sale, manufacture, or deliver with intent to sell marijuana; three counts of possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana; two counts of sale, manufacture, deliver or possess with the intent to sell or deliver cocaine; and two counts of possession of cocaine.
“I’m incredibly proud of our entire investigations team getting this drug dealer off the streets,” Sheriff Eric Flowers said in a statement. “They work hard every day keeping our community free of drugs and the crime it attracts.”
Detectives targeted Beam after receiving complaints about drug activity in the area of his home. Deputies used a confidential informant to make three controlled narcotics purchases from Beam at his residence.
The undercover transactions took place on July 24, July 31 and August 11, records show. The informant wore a hidden audio and video recording device for the deals.
Overall, the informant gave Beam a total of $1,180 in exchange for the narcotics, reports show. On Friday, the sheriff’s Special Investigations Unit and SWAT team deputies searched Beam’s residence and seized the following items:
- Cocaine: 5 ounces
- Methamphetamine: More than 1 pound
- Marijuana: 2 pounds
- Ecstasy: 6 grams
- Oxycodone: 683 pills
- Amphetamine: 78 pills
- Tramadol: 47 pills
- Trazodone: 23 pills
- Firearms: 12 including several semi-automatic handguns, several revolvers, two shotguns, two AK-47 style rifles, one compact rifle, one hunting rifle
Beam was arrested and booked into the Indian River County Jail.
