Janet Lea Mock, 71, Vero Beach, Fl

February 16, 1954 – July 25, 2025

Janet Lea Mock, 71, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the VNA/Hospice House in Vero Beach.

Born on February 16, 1954, in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Barrett Brungard.

Janet began her long and successful career with Piper Aircraft Company after relocating to Lakeland, Florida from Lock Haven. In 1985, she moved to Vero Beach and continued her advancement with the company where she served as the Senior Purchasing Agent for Piper. And while she was still recognized as a hardworking dedicated employee of 45 years she never truly slowed down at work or after hours.

A proud and active member of the Eagles Aerie, the Loyal Order of Moose, and the American Legion in Vero Beach, Janet was beloved for her sweet personality, kindness, and quirky sense of humor. While she was known as a hard worker, her heart always belonged to her family. She will be fondly remembered for her love of cooking, her enthusiasm for watching Chef Ramsay, and her well-known aversion to washing dishes.

She is survived by her sons: Brian P. (Melissa) Mock of Vero Beach, and their children William Tyson and Maverick Talen Mock; Daniel Mock of Vero Beach; and Michael (Kim) Mock of Lakeland, and their children Jonathan and Jarod Mock. She is also survived by her siblings: Barry (Shara) Brungard of Grant, Florida; Barbara Brungard of Titusville, Florida; and James (Beth) Brungard Jr. of St. Augustine, Florida.

The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 4:30 PM on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach, followed by a celebration of life service at 4:30 PM, officiated by Rev. David Foster.

Dennis Lipofsky, 69

August 11, 1955 – August 7, 2025

Dennis Lipofsky, 69, passed away on August 7, 2025, in Vero Beach, Florida. Born on August 11, 1955, in Boston, Massachusetts, Dennis lived a life filled with hard work, adventure, and love for his family.

He grew up in Natick, Massachusetts, graduating from Natick High School in 1973. In his early years, he worked in auto body repair and insurance appraising before following his calling to help others. Dennis became an EMT, earned his fire and paramedic certifications at Indian River State College, and proudly served with the City of Stuart Fire and Rescue in Florida. After moving to Murphy, North Carolina, Dennis began a new chapter as a table games dealer at a local casino. His career reflected his deep commitment to public safety and caring for his community, paired with a little fun.

Dennis had a lifelong love of the water and the open road. He took great pride in restoring his 1955 Chevy, spent countless hours boating, fishing, and waterskiing, and loved the thrill of riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed camping and being outdoors, finding peace in nature. After retiring, he began playing poker several times a week, where he built lasting friendships.

Family was at the center of everything Dennis did. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 44 years, Judy; his children Sharon Lipofsky; Steven Lipofsky and wife Jennifer; Susan Dunbar and husband Ricky; and Robert Lipofsky and wife Mariana. He was the proud grandfather of Lily and Preston Dunbar, Emma and Andrew Lipofsky, and Lucy Lipofsky. He also leaves behind his sisters Gail Lorber (Walter), Tina Friedman, and Michelle Goldstein (Mark); many loving nieces and nephews; and countless friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Miriam Lipofsky.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 12:00–2:00 PM at Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory, 1950 20th Street, Vero Beach, Florida. In keeping with Dennis’s preference for comfort and ease, casual dress is encouraged.

In honor of Dennis memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County.

Dennis will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and adventure will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Kenneth D. Fuchs, 72, Vero Beach

June 28, 1953 – August 11, 2025

Kenneth D. Fuchs, 72, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 11, 2025, at the Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital.

Born on June 28, 1953, in Emmetsburg, Iowa, to Darlow and Donna (Ryon) Fuchs, Ken built a career in civil engineering before retiring. In October 2017, he and his wife, Janet Love, relocated from Glen Burnie, Maryland, to Vero Beach to begin a new chapter together.

Ken’s life was enriched by a wide array of passions. He and Jan shared a love for “so bad they’re good” horror films, classic black-and-white movies on Turner Classic Movies, and the gritty drama of Peaky Blinders. Music was another constant in his life—whether enjoying the quirky energy of NRBQ or the timeless rock of the Rolling Stones. An avid motorsports fan, Ken rarely missed a Formula 1 race.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Janet Love of Vero Beach; his mother, Donna Fuchs of Parker, Colorado; his sister, Marnie Martin, and her husband, Ron, of Aurora, Colorado, along with their children Russell, Aubrey, Lex and Juliette; his stepdaughter, Kendel Hannon, and her husband, Devin, of Pasadena, Maryland, and their children Jackson and Olivia; his mother-in-law, Clara Love of Vero Beach; three sisters-in-law, Ana Fuchs of Denver, Colorado, Ann Pavicevic, of Parker, Colorado, and Paula Love of Lincolnton, North Carolina and her son Christopher.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Darlow Fuchs, and brothers, Lyle, William and David Fuchs.

Shirley M. Coleman, 90, Vero Beach

March 15, 1935 – August 10, 2025

Shirley M. Coleman, 90, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital.

Born March 15, 1935, in East Orange, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Leo E. and Ruth Gertrude (Moeck) Rollins. Shirley earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and dedicated her career to serving others as a Registered Nurse with the Veterans Administration, working in New Mexico and later in Tucson, Arizona.

Following the passing of her beloved husband, Richard, in 1986, Shirley moved to Florida in 1998 to be closer to family. She made her home in Vero Beach, where she enjoyed playing bocce with friends and indulging her deep love for opera and local theater, which she supported as a passionate patron.

Shirley endured profound personal loss, with her son, Timothy, passing in 1998, and her brother, David Rollins, just one month ago.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen “Kathy” Coleman of Phoenix, Arizona; her brother, Robert Rollins, and his wife, Carole, of Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. A Mass celebrating her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach.

Milo James Miller, 90, Vero Beach

January 24, 1935 – August 13, 2025

Milo James Miller, a lifelong resident of Vero Beach, passed away on August 13, 2025. He was the son of the late Milo Calhoun and Annie Bell Webb Miller.

Born and raised in Vero Beach, Milo took great pride in his hometown and left his mark on it in a lasting way. As the owner of M & R Roofing Company, he built and repaired countless homes and businesses—earning the good-natured reputation that he had “built half of Vero.”

Milo was happiest at home, where he enjoyed working on cars, and tending to his garden—reaping the rewards of what he sowed. He also took great pride in caring for his property, making it a place of comfort and beauty.  Milo liked to fish and  he loved spending time outdoors, enjoying the simple pleasures of life in the community he cherished.

He is survived by his daughter, Paula Jones and her husband Kevin; sister, Louise Cooler; brothers, Richard Miller and his wife Sue, and Sonny Miller; grandchildren, Kevin Jones, Ashley Jones, and Hunter Jones; great-grandchildren, Maddison, Jase, Grayson, Remy Jean, and Knox.

In addition to his parents, Milo was preceded in death by his daughter, Joann Miller; sisters, Mary Ann Purvis and Charlotte Caudill; and former wife, Thelma Miller.

Milo’s legacy is not only in the buildings he helped create, but in the relationships, memories, and quiet moments he shared with those who knew and loved him.
