VERO BEACH — Local passengers will be able to book low-cost, JetBlue flights to Boston and New York from the Vero Beach Regional Airport starting December 11, according to a news release from the airline. JetBlue will offer the one-way fares starting at $69.

The daily, year-round flights will be offered to and from the Vero Beach Regional Airport, 3400 Cherokee Drive. Residents will be able to travel from Vero Beach to the Boston Logan International Airport and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.

The new airline service will be offered seven days a week, said Todd Scher, airport director for the Vero Beach Regional Airport. JetBlue will use both the Airbus A220 and the Airbus A320 airplanes, Scher said.

Vero Beach Regional Airport has one airline service, Breeze Airways, that operates at the facility. JetBlue will be the second low-cost airline service to run at the airport.

Breeze Airways carried 175,995 passengers to and from the Vero Beach Regional Airport in 2024, according to Scher. Countless additional passengers used chartered aircraft, fractional ownership aircraft and corporate aircraft in traveling to the airport, Scher said.

JetBlue, or JetBlue Airways, was incorporated in August 1998 in Delaware. The first flights from JetBlue began on Feb, 11, 2000, according to the airline’s website.

JetBlue is the sixth-largest airline in the U.S. and offers flights to more than 30 countries.
