Sunrise Rotary Involved in the community

Sunrise Rotary Vero Beach,  a Service Above Self Rotary Club, does just that….Service Above Self. In the past few months the club has taken on road clean up from Jaycee Park to Bay Dr on Jimmy Buffett Hwy (A1A). They added Jones Pier to their list of regular volunteer areas. Literacy committee added a Little Free Library to Youth Guidance Mentoring Academy. Every PRE K in the county received their own book. $31,000 in scholarships to local teens, were given out with another $6,000 to go, then at Gifford Middle School, 20 laptops were given out for reading programs. Area leaders were recognized with a Paul Harris (a Rotary Award). The Community Service committee oversees the DrownZero Life Saving Stations in IRC and has to date put out over 30 with another 30 just  being put together now. These stations are there in case a life guard is busy or off duty and located in areas there are no life guards. The club sponsors an Interact Club at Charter, a RotaKids club at Imagine and a new RotaKids club at Youth Guidance Mentoring Academy. Health & Wellness committee acquired a First Aid Tent (with volunteers) and has been taking it to various events as a donated service. This is just a few of the many projects that Sunrise Rotary Vero Beach is involved in.

Come to a meeting any Wednesday at 6:45am at the Riverhouse (by the dog park) and see for yourself. www.sunriserotaryverobeach.org.
