Crereser Jean Outler Gates, 71, Vero Beach

Crereser Jean Outler Gates, “Rut,” was born on May 13, 1954 in Vero Beach, FL to the late Johnny Outler and Alberta Russ. Crereser “Rut” graduated from Vero Beach Senior High School in 1972. She was employed as a telephone operator for Southern Bell for approximately 10 years. She also was co-owner of Bostic & Sons until she became disabled.
Crereser “Rut” married the love of her life, Richard Harvard Gates, and to this union, three beautiful daughters were born: Richele, Janna, and Ciera.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Alberta Russ Collier; father, Johnny Outler; stepfathers, Ronald Davis and Arthur Collier; grandparents, Rufus Russ, Eula Mae Russ, Lee Bertha King Outler; brothers, Ezekiel Collier, Willie Harry Collier, Arthur Collier, Jr., Fred Collier; sister, Linda Black; uncle, Jimmy Outler.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her three daughters: Richele Gates, Janna Gates, Ciera Gates (Adam); four grandsons: Ahmad McKenzie, Arman McKenzie, Josiah Gates, Camarion Gates; four granddaughters: Jameria Bryant, Jalafiyette Gates, Camryn Gates, Harmony Sanders; three great-grandchildren: Zymier McKenzie, Nahir and Nia’ari Hillsman; godchildren: Wendolyn Wynn, Simeon Drisdom, Davonte Jones, Keke Stinson, Janell Stinson, Julius Johnson, Jr.; brothers: Isaac Collier, Tommy Collier; sisters: Willie Bell Gordon and Carrie Lee Tomlinson; aunts: Georgia Mae Reddie, Clara Jackson, Mamie Lucille Buckner; and a host of special children, cousins, other relatives, and sorrowing friends who will miss her dearly.
