Impact 100 Indian River Announces 2025 Finalists for $100,000 Grants

VERO BEACH, FL March 5, 2025 – A packed house of 200 members and guests erupted in applause as Impact 100 Indian River announced the seven nonprofit finalists competing for this year’s four $100,000 grants.

The energy at The Vero Heritage Center on March 5 was electric during the highly anticipated Meet the Finalists event, where attendees learned which nonprofit organizations are advancing in the grant selection process.

“These projects each represent bold, transformational initiatives aimed at strengthening our local community,” said Suzi McCoy Shriner, president of Impact 100 (IR) Indian River. “They reflect the heart of our mission – funding initiatives that create lasting change in Indian River County.”

She thanked the generous members of Impact 100 who make it possible for these nonprofits to tackle critical issues, from youth development to crisis intervention, healthcare access, and disaster relief.

2025 Impact 100 Indian River $100,000 Grant Finalists:

  • Indian River Soccer Academy – Fellsmere Player Development Program
    Expanding soccer training opportunities for underserved youth in Fellsmere, promoting teamwork, discipline, and community engagement.
  • Hibiscus Children’s Center – Supporting Families In Crisis
    Providing crucial support services to families in crisis to prevent child abuse and neglect while strengthening family stability.
  • The Newport Club – Transformational Change: Building a Better Day – Open House Project
    Creating a dedicated space to support individuals in recovery, offering resources for long-term wellness and sobriety.
  • Treasure Coast Community Health, Inc. – Oslo Pediatric Dental Equipment
    Improving pediatric dental care access by equipping the Oslo facility with state-of-the-art dental technology.
  • Tykes & Teens, Inc. – Family Peer Support
    Empowering families through peer support programs that address youth mental health challenges and strengthen family resilience.
  • United Against Poverty, Inc. – Generating Impact: Powering Disaster Relief in Indian River County
    Enhancing local disaster response capabilities by providing resources and infrastructure for emergency relief efforts.
  • Youth Guidance of Indian River County, Inc. – The Culinary Academy
    Offering hands-on culinary training to at-risk youth, equipping them with valuable life skills and career opportunities.

“These finalists were rigorously vetted by 55 dedicated grant panel volunteers,” explained Shriner. “This ensures that each organization is well-positioned to execute its proposed project, sustain its impact beyond the grant period, and effectively manage a $100,000 investment.”

At the upcoming Annual Meeting on April 16, 2025, Impact 100 members will hear presentations from each finalist before casting their votes to determine the grant recipients.

“This rigorous vetting and voting process sets Impact 100 IR apart from other funding agencies in the county,” Shriner added. “Our process guarantees that every grant dollar goes to projects our members believe will have the greatest transformational impact in our community.”
