Dominick Quinto, 92, Vero Beach
June 4, 1931 – February 13, 2024
Dominick Quinto, 92, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2024 at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, Fl. with family by his side. He was the husband of Ruth Quinto to whom he was married to for 67 years.
A United States NAVY Veteran, he served his county in the Korean War.
He is survived by his four daughters and their spouses. Jeanette Quinto-Broker & George Broker (predeceased) of Port St. Lucie, FL; Debra & Dino Longo of Merrick, NY; Donna & Nicholas Wentz of Sebastian, FL; Patricia Quinto & William Burchianti of Long Beach, NY. He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday, February 16th at Seawinds Funeral Home, 735 S. Fleming Street, Sebastian, Florida. A Prayer Service will begin at 7:00 PM.
Mr Quinto will be flown to New York where a Visitation will be held
at 2:00 until 4:00 PM and 7:00 until 9:00 PM on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Christopher T. Jordan Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Long Beach Road, Island Park, NY 11558. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 26, 2024 at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church, 721 West Broadway, Long Beach, NY 11561.
Interment will follow at St. Charles Resurrection Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735.

Lois Ann Ackershoek-Neun, 83, Barefoot Bay
October 24, 1940 – February 14, 2024
Lois Ann Ackershoek-Neun, 83, of Barefoot Bay, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on February 14th, 2024.
Lois was born October 24th, 1940 to Kryn & Anna Ackershoek in Paterson, New Jersey. After graduating high school, she went to work as a Secretary for United Uniform Company. A couple of years later she married Donald W. Mesler, and they moved to Postbrook, New Jersey before settling down in West Milford, New Jersey and starting a family.
In 1972, Lois and Don, and their children moved to the small town of Northfield Falls, Vermont, owning and operating the Falls General Store for several years. Lois, and her friend Pat Garland, opened The Fish Net, a very cute pet store, behind the General Store as well. After the stores were sold, she dedicated herself to raising her children, several foster children, babysitting, and running a little family farm. Goats, geese, rabbits, horses, cats and dogs, and soon several teenagers in the house, kept her very busy.
In 1982, she went back to school and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at Mayo Nursing Home in Northfield, Vermont and then the Berlin Convalescent Center in Berlin, Vermont. Lois was a natural-born caregiver and in the coming years she worked full-time as a Nurse while spending countless hours caring for her mother, Anna, then her second husband, Don Neun, then her father, Kryn, and then her Uncle Tom.
After her husband passed in 2000, she moved to Polk County, Florida, with her father and her uncle, and then on to her final, earthly home in Barefoot Bay, Florida in 2002. She worked at the Palms Rehabilitation Center in Palm Bay, Florida until she retired in 2012. Lois also got very involved in her church, Calvary Chapel Sebastian, after retirement and after her father and uncle went home to be with The Lord. She served in the Woman’s Ministry, the Kid’s Ministry, the Homeless Ministry, the Outreach Ministry, and the Hospitality Team, as well as participating in many Bible studies, classes, conferences and Small Groups.
Lois loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and dedicated the last good years of her life to spreading The Gospel message. Even before then she had a heart for the orphans and the widows, the poor and the down-trodden, the broken and the messy. If you needed help, and she was able to provide it, she would go out of her way to do so. She even travelled to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and served with the Samaritan’s Purse Team. She also loved to travel for fun. She went to China, England, Ireland, Scotland, The Netherlands, Hawaii, Alaska, and numerous other locations. Her vacations always included one or more of her children and their families, her Uncle Tom, or her oldest, and best, friend, Lorae.
Lois was predeceased by both of her parents, her husband, and her daughter, Susan Mesler. She is survived by her other three children, Donald Kryn Mesler and his wife, P.K., of Goodyear, Arizona, John Mesler of Barefoot Bay, Florida, and Jill August and her husband, Chris, of Panama City, Florida. She also leaves behind her sisters, Joan (Paul) Reilley and Karen (Ray) Leopizzi, their children and grandchildren, and her own four beloved granddaughters, her foster grandson, and three great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Lois at Calvary Chapel, 1251 Sebastian Boulevard, Sebastian, Florida on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, at 10:00AM. Robert M. Connolly, 98, Vero Beach
April 3, 1925 – February 18, 2024
Robert M. Connolly, 98 passed away on February 18, 2024 at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach. He now joins his wife Doris who passed away four years ago. They shared 73 blessed years of marriage together.
He was born to Theodore L Connolly and Dorothy Montgomery on April 3, 1925 in Staten Island, New York. A graduate of Port Richmond High School, he enlisted in the US Navy having served his country during WWII as a Signalman Second Class V6.
Bob went on to be a New York City Policeman and retired after 20 years. His second career as a Master Electrician had him working on new homes in the Coral Springs Area.
Bob and Doris came to Sebastian, Florida 37 years ago. He loved fishing almost every day in the Sebastian River Waterways. In addition, he played golf with Doris into their 80’s at the Sebastian Golf Club.
He is survived by his Son Robert “Chuck” and Daughter in Law JoAnn Connolly of Vero Beach, Florida; Daughter, Patricia Gutmanis of Sebastian, Florida; Grandchildren, Robert G Connolly Jr and spouse, Lori Connolly, Kimberly Connolly, Jack Murray and Maggie Clark; Great Grandchildren, Robert A. Connolly, Remi A. Connolly, Rayder A. Connolly, Risa A. Connolly, Justin Peterson and Samantha Clark; sister in law, Joanne Connolly. Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Theodore L. Connolly II.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 13075 U.S. Highway 1, Sebastian, Florida 32958. Internment and Military Honors will follow at Sebastian Cemetery, 1921 N Central Avenue, Sebastian, Florida 32958.

Richard (Dick) Williams Shepherd, 76, Vero Beach
October 11, 1947 – February 19, 2024
Richard (Dick) Williams Shepherd, age 76, passed away on February 19th at VNA Hospice House, surrounded by loving family members. He was the husband of Deanna Jeanne Shepherd. They shared 55 years of marriage.
Richard was born in Detroit, Michigan, spent his childhood in Haddon Heights, New Jersey, and raised his family in Haddonfield, New Jersey. He was the son of Shirley and Arthur Shepherd.
Upon graduating from Franklin and Marshall College in 1969, he obtained his CPA license. This led him to a career as a hospital administrator: first as the CEO of Children’s Seashore House, a unit within Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and later at Weisman Children’s. Dick was an avid boater with a Master Captain’s License, who most notably explored Eastern North America while completing The Great Loop on his beloved Sareanna with his first mate Deanna. He was a voracious reader and captivating storyteller whose sense of adventure compelled him to travel the world with his friends.
Dick will be remembered as a generous provider who loved and cared for his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Deanna Shepherd; his sister, Deborah Thompson (Ronald Thompson); his children, Stephen Shepherd (Shannon Shepherd), Benjamin Shepherd (Angela Shepherd), Sarah Vellutato (Anthony Vellutato); and grandchildren, Ona Shepherd, Ella Vellutato, and Caleb Vellutato.

Charles Judson Bailey, “Judd” 72, Sebastian
October 20, 1951 – February 24, 2024
Charles Judson Bailey, “Judd” age 72, of Sebastian Florida passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024. Married to Kathleen Bailey for 23 years. Judd was born in Olean, New York to the late Charles and Julia Bailey, predeceased by siblings Jim Bailey and Susan Hedburg.
Judd owned and operated C.J. Bailey Concrete Co. and later worked for Walmart.
Judd was a sociable man who made friends and acquaintances everywhere he went and will be missed by many.
Judd enjoyed boating and camping and being in the company of friends and family.
Judd is survived by his wife, Kathleen Bailey, daughters Kristen “Red” (Chris) Revelee and Kimberly Bailey and son Mathew Bailey, 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
A private service will be held at a later date.
