The Source’s Dignity Wellness Program Launches a Series of Mental Health Seminars to the Public

Knowing that the holiday season can be challenging, causing feelings of sadness, stress, and loneliness for many, The Source’s Dignity Wellness Program launched “Managing the Holiday Blues” in early December.

According to Charlene Morris, LMHC, MCAP and Director of The Source’s Mental Health Services/Dignity Wellness Program, “A free seminar and luncheon was offered to the community to learn the ways to cope with the holidays. The event, held on December 6 at the Richardson Center, was a huge success and our plans to offer more complimentary programs like this, covering a number of selected topics, will be covered throughout the year ahead.”

“Managing the Holiday Blues” was an initiative presented by Dignity Wellness and sponsored by Impact 100 and Indian River State College. The panel of experts, moderated by Ms. Morris includes Charlotte “Shotsi” Cain Lajoie, LMHC, Dr. Deepti Harish Sadhwani, Internal & Bariatric Medicine, Quality and Wellness Health Institute; Irene Cauwels, MCAP, NCC and Program Director of Substance Awareness Center; and Psychologist, Dr. Linda Petrilla. The luncheon was catered by The Source’s own Dignity Catering.

The future programs slated include “Health FEST”: A Health and Wellness Fair for the whole family (Spring); “Parenting in the 21st Century”:  For ADHD, anxiety, eating disorders and social phobias (Summer); “Suicide Awareness” in adults and teenagers (Fall); and “Resilience and Mental Health”: Endure tough situations, and cope with stress in a healthy way (Winter). For more information on these events or the Dignity Wellness Program, call Charlene Morris at 772-564-0202.
