In every ‘witch’ way, Halloween Parade was a scary-good time

An assortment of ghosts and ghouls, princesses and pirates paraded through downtown Vero Beach during the 63rd annual Halloween Parade hosted by the City of Vero Beach Recreation Department.

The parade route ran along 14th Avenue from the Vero Beach Women’s Club to the Vero Beach Community Center, where the event’s second act took place. Spectators oohed and aahed as little ones, channeling their real or imagined personas, traipsed past, and a trio of witches from “Hocus Pocus” tossed ‘cursed’ candy to the crowd from atop a spooky float.

City Councilman Rey Neville did his best Beetlejuice impersonation as emcee of the Costume Contest, where a panel of judges had the difficult task of selecting the winners from amongst the creatively curated costumes. Next up, on Dec. 3, COVB Aerial Antics Youth Circus participants will perform “Santa Seeking Talent” at the Vero Beach High School PAC.
