Telisha “Rena” Richmond, age 60, of Ft. Pierce, FL, passed away at her home on the morning of Monday, June 19th, 2023, with her husband by her side.
Rena was born December 18, 1962, in Fort Pierce and was a lifetime resident.
She was of Baptist faith.
Rena is survived by her husband, Randy DeWayne Chambers, mother, Diane Richmond, brother, Norman Bass, and many additional family members.
She was predeceased by her father, Richard “Dicky” Richmond and her daughter, Erica Lynn.
A Celebration of Life service is being planned in honor of Rena and will be held at Ft. Pierce Beach, where Rena and Randy were married, and will be announced at a later date.

Marcella (Marcy) Von Kohorn, 97, Vero Beach
September 22, 1925 – June 20, 2023
Marcella (Marcy) Von Kohorn passed away on June 20, 2023 in Vero Beach at the age of 97. She died peacefully at home, surrounded by family.
Marcy was born on September 22, 1925, in Philadelphia, PA, to Herman and Cecilia (Ceal) Watkins. She graduated from Syracuse University in 1947, majoring in psychology. After a first marriage that produced two sons, in 1956 Marcy married the love of her life, Henry Von Kohorn, a widower, who brought his three sons to the marriage. Together they had a sixth son and raised their boisterous family in Greenwich, CT.
In 1987, Marcy and Henry moved to Vero Beach where they built a new life, making friends, playing tennis, and traveling the world. Marcy loved to paint, specializing in Chinese brush work, and she was good at it. Over the years, she sold her work through numerous shows and galleries in the Vero Beach area. She was an active member of the League of American Pen Women, a national creative arts organization. Every year without fail, Marcy produced a holiday card, featuring one of her paintings on the front and an original poem inside.
After 50 years of marriage, Henry died in 2006. In his honor, Marcy and her family sponsored the Henry Von Kohorn Tennis Tournament at The Moorings Club, which for the past 15 years has raised money on behalf of Habitat for Humanity. Marcy also became a regular volunteer at VNA Hospice House. In her later years, she became proficient with the computer – writing, emailing, texting, Googling, and mastering QuickBooks. And she continued to paint, presenting a one-person show in Vero Beach as recently as last year. This January, Vero Beach Magazine published a feature story entitled “The Art of Aging Gracefully,” about Marcy, her paintings, and her recently produced memoir. Intent on remaining self-reliant, she lived independently until the end.
But with all of her accomplishments, Marcy was most proud of the many members of her large and loving family. She is survived by her six sons – Craig (Kathy) of Vero Beach; Robert (Dana) of Vero Beach; David (Lisa) of Asheville, NC; Jeffrey (Elizabeth) of Shelton, CT; Kenneth (Dana) of Norwalk, CT; and Henry Jr. (Meredith) of Princeton, NJ – by 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her half-sister, Susan Freund, of Pound Ridge, NY.
A funeral service will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Vero Beach on Thursday, July 6th at 11:00 AM. A reception will be held afterwards at The Moorings Harbour Side (1850 Bay Road, Vero Beach). Burial in Greenwich will be private.

Callie Gibson Corey, 94, Gifford
May 07, 1929 – June 15, 2023
Callie Gibson Corey, age 94, passed away on June 15, 2023 at the skilled nursing unit of Hidden Lakes Retirement Community, after suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease for a number of years. Callie, the daughter of Victoria Davis and John Wharton Gibson, was born in Artemus, Kentucky on May 7, 1929. She was valedictorian of her class at Artemus High School and attended Union College in Barbourville, KY. Callie and Luke Corey married in 1945, after he was discharged from the US Navy. This union produced four children.
After Luke graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in 1949, he was a pharmacist in Kentucky, until the family moved to Vero Beach. Luke and Callie opened Corey’s Pharmacy on Ocean Drive in August 1956. After Luke’s death in 1997, Callie’s grandson, Dr. Mark Frankenberger became the pharmacist at the drugstore, continuing the family tradition. Callie was in the drugstore daily until she fell and fractured a hip in July 2017.
Callie had many interests including antiques, cooking, collecting shells, gardening, orchids, bonsai, and needlework. She was known for her hospitality and she loved to entertain in the beautiful home she created. She was of the Christian faith.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Luke, her son Mark, her infant daughter Elaine, her parents, and her brother Theodore Gibson.
She is survived by her daughter, Judyth Corey Dawson of Micanopy, Florida; and her son, Scott Corey and his wife Sherry, of Vero Beach. In addition, she is survived by six grandchildren: Sandra Lynn Frankenberger of Gainesville, Florida; Dr. Mark Corey Frankenberger and his wife, Dr. Alison Frankenberger, of Vero Beach; Lauren Corey Geda and her husband Stan Geda of Etters, PA; Hillary Corey, of Jefferson, Georgia; Jacob Ashley Corey of Raleigh, NC and Luke Gibson Corey of Tallahassee, Florida. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Graham and Anna Frankenberger, Kiera Ogle, Harper Duke, and Izabel and Mark Geda. In addition, she is survived by six nieces and three nephews, as well as numerous great- and great-great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday July 8, 2023 at First Presbyterian Church, 520 Royal Palm Boulevard, Vero Beach. The Rev. Dr. Timothy Womack will officiate and Robert E. Stone will provide the eulogy.

Ann Jones Bowling, 92, Vero Beach
November 13, 1930 – June 22, 2023
Ann Jones Bowling died peacefully on June 22, 2023, at age 92 in her home in Vero Beach, FL. Born on November 13, 1930, in Eddyville, KY, she was the daughter of John Robert Jones and Mary Clift Jones.
Ann grew up on a farm in Kutawa, KY, with her parents and her sister, Jonelle, before the family moved to Louisville, KY, in 1945. She attended the University of Louisville, where she was a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority and where she met her lifetime love, James Chandler Bowling, whom she married on October 19, 1951. Before graduating, Ann was selected U of L’s “Miss Thoroughbred.”
Ann and Jim moved to Forest Hills, NY, when Jim was transferred by Philip Morris in January 1952. After having twin daughters, they moved to Connecticut in 1954 where they welcomed a son and later a third daughter and raised their family. After Jim retired from Philip Morris, they became residents of Vero Beach, FL.
Ann loved entertaining family and friends and traveling the world. She especially loved traveling to France, her favorite destination, and was fluent in French. She was a consummate corporate wife and helped support Jim’s career throughout their marriage. Ann also had a passion for both golf and tennis and thoroughly enjoyed watching tournaments; she particularly enjoyed inviting guests to attend the U.S. Open Tennis matches with her for many years. She was the matriarch of the family— vivacious, gracious, and strong.
Ann also volunteered her time for a number of different causes. She served as senior warden on the vestry at St. Luke’s Parish in Darien and on the board of trustees at Berea College and Midway College (now Midway University) for many years. She was elected Trustee Emeritus at Midway when she retired from the board, and in 2022, Midway University dedicated its welcome center to her, naming it the Ann J. Bowling Welcome Center.
She was a member of the Windsor Club in Vero Beach, FL, as well as the Wee Burn Country Club and St. Luke’s Parish, both in Darien, CT.
She is survived by her three daughters: Belinda Bewkes Metzger and her husband Jim (Darien, CT), Nancy Bowling Gramps and her husband Steve (Darien, CT), and Stephanie Bowling Zeigler (Rowayton, CT), eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Jonelle Jones Fisher, and her husband, Dr. Norman Sidney Fisher (Midway, KY), and by many nephews and nieces and their children. Ann was predeceased by her husband, James Chandler Bowling, in 1997 and her son, James Chandler Bowling, Jr., in 2002.
A family graveside burial service will be held at the Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, KY, on Wednesday, June 28, at 11:00 am. A reception will be held for family and friends following the service until 2:00 pm at Holly Hill in Midway, KY. A celebration of life will be scheduled later in Darien, CT.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Berea College, Midway University, the University of Kentucky, or the University of Louisville.

Phyllis JoAnne McCoy, 91

Phyllis JoAnne McCoy, age 91, passed away June 20, 2023, at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital.
She was born January 1, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Al and Sadie Gregg.
Survivors include her daughters, Lauri Stevens and Vicki Brady (Bob Sammons); son, Gregg (Eva) McCoy; grandchildren, Bill (Kim) Brady, Jr., Cindy Brady, Mike (Amber) Brady, Lea Stevens, Kelsey Stevens, and Alexa Stevens; great-grandchildren, Trey Brady, Addison Brady, Connor Dupuis, Landyn Alexander, Tiana Brady, and Deja James.
She was predeceased by her husband.
A memorial service will be held at Noon, Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Living Lord Lutheran Church, 2725 58th Ave, Vero Beach, FL 32966.

Cheryl Lynn Kothrade-Waller, 72, Vero Beach
June 03, 1951 – June 19, 2023
Cheryl Lynn Kothrade-Waller, 72, drew her last quiet and peaceful breath on June 19, 2023, at home in Vero Beach, FL, in bed, her adoring husband beside her, after a brave, decade-long struggle against Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). PSP is a rare neurological disorder within the Parkinson’s family of diseases.
Cheryl was born on June 3, 1951, in Milwaukee, WI, to Walter Frederick Kothrade and Ruth Esther Mundt Kothrade, both deceased.
Cheryl grew up in the Milwaukee, WI suburb of Greenfield, was active in the Job’s Daughters (Bethell # 6) and elected their Honored Queen. She graduated from Greenfield High School in 1969 and was a member of The National Honor Society. Cheryl then attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and earned a B.A. in Classical Languages in 1973. Cheryl moved to the Washington, DC area and pursued her graduate studies at The George Washington University, where she received an M.A. in Laboratory Science, with a Special Studies concentration in museum conservation in 1977. Cheryl applied her love of museum artifact preservation and her graduate education at both the Milwaukee Museum and at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC.
In the early 1980’s, Cheryl took a different career path and entered the field of computers and Information Technology. Cheryl had a successful 30-year career in IT with the federal government. She was an IT Project Manager for the Department of Labor when she retired in 2012.
Cheryl married the love of her life, Bill Waller, in 1998. They lived for 16 years in Silver Spring, MD, less than a mile from the DC line. Cheryl and Bill enjoyed 16 happy and active years in Silver Spring, where they took advantage of all that DC and its environs had to offer. They also loved the ocean and treasured their vacations at the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Cheryl and Bill bought a home in the Walker’s Glen development of Vero Beach in 2008, and they moved there full time in 2014.
Cheryl was a Renaissance woman with many talents. She was a gourmet cook who loved to entertain and serve scrumptious meals to her family and friends. Cheryl also enjoyed painting and gardening. A voracious reader, Cheryl typically had 2 or 3 books on her nightstand at once in the pre-Kindle days. And she was a wiz at Sudoku. In her later years Cheryl loved to take strolls around the lake in Walker’s Glen with Bill and their precious Havanese puppy, Gussie, and to feed the fish and turtles and chat with her neighbors along the way.
Cheryl savored all of life’s sweet fruits, but her truest and greatest love was her family. Besides Bill, her loving husband of 25 years, Cheryl’s lovely smile and gentle soul will be dearly missed by her family. Cheryl is survived by Bill’s daughter, Amber; her brothers Dale Kothrade (Suzanne) and Dean Kothrade (Pam); her sister-in-law Bonnie Thomas (Tom); her nephews Kendall Kothrade (Abby), Warren Kothrade, Marshall Kothrade, Christian Kinders (Melinda), Casey Kinders (Teresa), and Michael Thomas; and her nieces Nicole Granados-Saric (Zoran), Kelly Genske, and Lauren Wilson (Brian). Cheryl is also survived by many grandnieces and grandnephews.
Cheryl will also be mourned and missed by her many great friends from all over the U.S., and by her wonderful neighbors and friends from the Walker’s Glen community and elsewhere in Vero Beach, FL.
There will be a celebration of Cheryl’s life at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, 1655 27th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960 at a future date. Lowther’s website will be updated with the service information once it has been determined.

Simone Ann Walker (Rose), 76, Vero Beach
November 25, 1946 – July 01, 2023
Simone Ann Walker (Rose) went peacefully to her heavenly home after an unexpected illness. Rose was predeceased by her parents, Joan and Lloyd Hachat, her foster son Joe Sauber, and her best friend Nancy Hachat. Rose is survived by her loving husband of58 years, Peter A. Walker, her children Mark Walker (Julie), Hilary Nunnari (Jeff), Jessica Kraus (Marty), Megan Pettine (Mike) and her 11 grandchildren, Ben Moore, Max Cuevas(Jocelyn), Alyssa Kraus, Kelsey Walker, Johnathan Moore, Paige Petrovic (Craig), Allie Schall (Joe), McKenna Cuevas, Hannah Kraus, Sam Walker, and Walker Kraus, and her 2 great grandchildren, Keelyn and Kamryn Cuevas, with baby Petrovic on the way, and her 4 loving siblings, Lloyd Hachat (Denise), Doug Hachat (Amy), Robin Leonino (Danny), Monique Andrea (Jerry).
Rose was born to Joan and Lloyd Hachat on November 25, 1946, in Clarksburg, West Virginia. The family moved to Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and she graduated in 1963. Rose met the love of her life, Peter A. Walker, at The Venice in Kent, Ohio. Their love story began in the married dorms at Kent State, where Rose dedicated her life to supporting her husband and raising four beautiful children.
In the year 1978, Rose studied Nursing at Walsh College, she then began her career as a nurse at Barberton Citizens Hospital. Rose’s passion for her patients was unending. She brought compassion and comfort to the many patients she served. In the year 1993, Rose followed her husband to Beijing, China to support his career, During the five years there, she decided to take on a career as a Medevac Nurse. Rose traveled around the world providing comfort and care to patients in critical need.
Rose and Pete began their adventures sailing through the Great Lakes. They expanded their travels throughout the world, with Vietnam being the most memorable. Rose and Pete retired to Vero Beach, Florida where they built their “forever home”. Rose spent her days tending to her garden, playing tennis, mahjongg and caring for her ailing friends within the community.
Her loving family, friends, wine girls, girls’ night groups and tennis partners will miss her “sassy”, spunky, loving ways. We know that she will always be the life of the party and that heaven just received one of the most beautiful “embellished” souls ever to enter the Gates of Heaven.
Simone and Pete have been very active in the Literacy Services of Indian River County. They have dedicated many years to volunteering and supporting this worthy cause.

Vernell Goldman, 86
May 02, 1937 – July 01, 2023
Our beloved husband and father Vernell Goldman passed away peacefully on July 1, 2023, in Vero Beach Florida at the age of 86. He is survived by his adoring wife, Florence Goldman; children, Mark (Sylvia) and John (Annabelle); and one sister, Syble Myers.
Vernell was born in Philadelphia Mississippi on May 2nd, 1937. His childhood in Neshoba County instilled a lifelong passion for enjoying outdoor activities, especially hunting, fishing, and cruising. Vernell and Florence first met while he was serving in the United States Army and stationed in Maryland. They formed a deep connection and went on to share a long and happy marriage of 64 years. He loved God, his family, and his country.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Cloys, Ladell, and Kermit Goldman; and parents Elton and Florence Evelyn Goldman.
A memorial service will be held in Pelahatchie MS on a date to be announced. The family asks that donations to the American Cancer Society be made instead of flowers or other gifts.

Sharen D. Rumberger, 74
November 08, 1948 – July 03, 2023
Sharen D. Rumberger went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 3rd, 2023, following a brief illness. She received her Bachelor of Nursing degree at the University of Virginia. Her Masters degree in Pediatric Nursing was received at the University of Florida. In addition to nursing, Sharen received her degree in Dental Hygiene. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Gerard D. Rumberger, and her daughter Kimberly Grace. She was also preceded in death by her identical twin sister, Karen.
Sharen is survived by her children Jennifer Lauren Rumberger, Joseph Bruce Rumberger, Dr. Lindsay Karen Rivera, Nancy Allison Pinzino, and Dr. Sarah Elizabeth Schrager. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren. Their hearts are broken, but they know that she has seen the face of Christ and will be at peace forever.
A Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.
A Graveside Service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 7, 2023 at Crestlawn Cemetery.
