Spacious ‘Seasons’ pool home filled with pleasant surprises

When Allen and Andrea Danzig decided they wanted to winter in Florida, they purchased their home at 2081 Autumn Lane in Seasons virtually.

“Very uncharacteristic of us,” says Andrea, recalling that it took them two years to find their home in New Jersey.

But sometimes, things are just meant to be.

They were pleasantly surprised when they first saw the house and started to get to know their neighbors.

“It was actually nicer than I thought it would be,” says Allen, noting the ceiling heights, solid construction and craftsmanship throughout the house. Shiplap wainscoting, plantation shutters and wood ceilings are just some of the elegant touches.

Beyond the home, the couple found Seasons to be a lovely community much to their liking, with proximity to clean, uncrowded beaches another big bonus.

“It’s like having your own private beach,” says Allen of the sandy shoreline less than half a mile away.

Andrea adds that she was thrilled to discover the various activities they had at their fingertips, from playing pickleball and tennis to swimming in their pool, riding their bikes along the Jungle Trail or taking the short walk to the beach.

“It’s like we’re on vacation every day that we’re here,” she says. Of course, the poolside tiki bar helps create an island state of mind!

Allen says the house is positioned perfectly to avoid the most intense sun. To eliminate the afternoon glare, they installed shades by the pool that can be pulled down as the sun begins to make its descent.

Once you have stepped through the solid mahogany doors and into the courtyard, you will find that the Danzigs have screened the entryway to allow an airy crossflow and take full advantage of the breeze in the screened pool area where they spend much of their time.

With the saltwater pool and hot tub, you can take a dip to cool off after your morning walk or work on sore muscles after playing a few games of pickleball, a popular community sport.

Right by the pool and adjacent to the main house is a two-room casita with a living room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette, allowing guests to come and go as they please, maintaining their privacy and that of members of the household.

The casita would also work well as a mother-in-law suite, office, studio, spot for long-term guests or space for live-in help, says listing Realtor Debbie Bell, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Realty.

The layout of the main house and its multiple access points brings the outdoors in and indoors out, explains Bell. The Danzigs’ love the home’s openness and accessibility compared to the smaller, more traditional homes they were accustomed to in New Jersey.

An en suite guest bedroom is located at the front of the house near the two-car garage and laundry room on the opposite side of the L-shaped home from the owner’s suite, with the dining room, living room and kitchen providing a buffer between the two sides.

An electric fireplace adds a touch of warmth in the living room for those cool winter evenings when you open the doors to the outside.

Wood flooring throughout the main living areas softens the elegant appointments, creating a beachy vibe, perfect for an island home and lifestyle.

The kitchen – Andrea’s favorite room in the house – has a pass-thru to the family room, so whoever is prepping dinner doesn’t miss out on the fun. With Thermador appliances, Carrera marble and an island prep station, this cook’s kitchen is a dream come true.

A breakfast nook with built-in seating and a pool view is the perfect place for everyone to gather for morning coffee or an afternoon snack.

A private patio off the family room is a good spot to sit and watch pelicans float on the lake. The yard backs up to community-owned greenspace, so you have a permanently serene setting.

The generous owner’s suite is at the rear of the house with a small salon where you can have a seating area or desk. Built-ins, a fireplace and a window seat are cozy attributes not to be overlooked.

The walk-in closet is spacious, and the bathroom is divine, with a water closet, shower, soaking tub and dual sinks. You can even pop out to the pool for a late-night soak in the hot tub.

The Danzigs have enjoyed their sojourn into Florida living but are missing their family. “We’re not leaving Florida because we don’t like Vero. We’re just going back to New Jersey. If we were moving back to Florida, Vero would be the place we’d want to be,” says Allen.

Seasons is an island community located between the Indian River and the Atlantic Ocean. The 100-homesite enclave along the Wabasso Causeway includes gated security, an onsite maintenance manager, Internet and cable, lawncare, a heated community pool, fitness center, clubhouse with a catering kitchen, two tennis courts, pickleball and croquet.

The subdivision is convenient to mainland shopping, the Environmental Learning Center, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort and Wabasso Beach Park, a guarded public beach. Sebastian’s picturesque riverside village with all its seafood restaurants and parks, and Vero’s Village by the Sea, with shopping, dining and cultural venues, are just a short drive away.
