Move-in ready Moorings home has wonderful water views

Sited on 110 feet of bulkhead along Galleon Cove, the light-filled home at 2066 Windward Way at The Moorings is just a stone’s throw – as the pelican flies – from the Intracoastal Waterway via Moorings Bay.

“Vaulted ceilings and refinished Mexican tile showcase the open floorplan to the fullest, and windows and sliders throughout the house allow for water views from nearly every room,” says AMAC agent Karl Dietrich, adding that the updated home is move-in ready and includes the furniture.

Recent upgrades include keyless entry, a new pool heater, service panels, irrigation, air-conditioning units with Wi-Fi-controlled thermostats, Ring cameras and hookup for a generator.

The front door with glass insert and sidelights opens into the living room and family room, an ample space with vaulted, tongue and groove ceilings defined by a wide column at the center of the room to create intimate gathering areas.

On one side of the column is a decorative fireplace, and on the other, an electric fireplace just below the flat-screen television. The electric fireplace changes colors so you can set the mood for a variety of occasions.

A sunroom runs along the rear of the house. It’s closed in so you can enjoy the space anytime. The owners have breakfast in the sunroom and watch the comings and goings of boaters on their way out for adventures on the lagoon.

The dining room is located to the left of the front door. Spacious with a larger window overlooking a lush garden area, it is convenient to the kitchen yet private due to the layout of the rooms.

A breakfast bar separates the updated kitchen gleaming with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. A gas, countertop range and wine cooler are handy on those evenings when you are entertaining.

The laundry room with an office area and storage is located just off the kitchen, making it easy to bring in the groceries from the garage or amble out the laundry room door to take a walk. A powder room is ideally situated for guests in the main areas of the house or to wash up after you’ve been working in the yard or tinkering in the two-car garage.

Two guest bedrooms share a full bathroom just off the front entry, with the owner’s suite located at the rear of the house with pool and Galleon Cove views. The spacious bedroom has a cedar closet and the bath features dual sinks, a glass block shower, a water closet and a walk-in closet with built-ins.

The bedroom opens into a glass-enclosed study, which can also be reached from the adjacent sunroom. The only problem with this design, says Dietrich: “I don’t think you would ever be able to get any work done because of this spectacular view.”

Outside, the recently redone deck surrounds a heated, freeform pool alongside the free-standing cabana. The cabana has a full summer kitchen, which extends the living area of the house, says Dietrich, who points out the grill, sink, refrigerator and outdoor shower.

This configuration is efficient when you want to cook up the fish anglers caught after they come in from a day on the water.

The wide canal makes it easy for a big boat to turn around and moor to the new Trex dock. With a 9,000-pound boatlift, you’ve got some leeway as to what kind of boat you can have. Green LED undermounted dock lighting can be controlled from the house, adding a bit of ambiance in the evenings.

Dietrich explains that The Moorings has a voluntary homeowners’ association. You can join the club and take advantage of the beautiful beach access and many other amenities. “The Moorings is one of the better-known upscale communities in Vero Beach. It’s a young and vibrant community.”

Designed as a boating community, The Moorings Yacht & Country Club offers a full slate of country club activities and amenities, including two golf courses, croquet, tennis and pickleball, a fitness center, pool, spa, a yacht club, and fine and casual dining. For families with children, Saint Edward’s School conveniently abuts the community. The Moorings is a short drive away from Vero’s Ocean Drive for shopping and dining or to the Riverside Theatre and the Vero Beach Museum of Art for cultural outings.
