June Alice DeGoursey, 90, Vero Beach
June 27, 1931 – June 19, 2022
June Alice DeGoursey, age 90, of Vero Beach passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 19th, 2022 just shy of her 91St birthday.
June was born to the late John and Alice Kelly on June 27th, 1931 in West Haven, CT. She graduated from West Haven High school in 1949 and worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield before starting her family. She later worked at Parametrics in Orange, CT and Echlin in Branford, CT.
June is survived by her children Pam (Cliff) Burns of Vero Beach, FL, Dianne DeGoursey of Vero Beach, FL, Joseph (Lisa) DeGoursey of Orange, CT, and Kathy (Cliff) Hearl of Fellsmere, FL. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
June retired to sunny Florida and was an active member of her community where she loved to line dance, play cards, win at bingo, and spend time with friends and family. She was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind many beautiful memories.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 18th at 10:00 am at St. Lawrence Church in West Haven with a private family burial immediately following.

Lisa Sue Kleiber, 59 of Sebastian, passed away on June 21, 2022. Lisa was born in Miami, Florida on October 13, 1962 and loved all animals. She enjoyed music, cooking, being by the water but, particularly the Sebastian River Inlet. Above all else, she loved her family and was very proud of being a Grandma to her 4 incredible grandkids.
Survivors include her mother, Natalie Feldman; children, Danielle Rose Kleiber and Shannon Marie Gonzalez; sister, Hope C Caton; nephews, J. Sam Caton and Josh Caton and her grandchildren, KJ and Tiana Acosta, Daniyah and Zoe Thompson. She is also survived by her companion and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 27, 2022 from 2:30 until 4:00 PM at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home followed by a Celebration of Lisa’s Life at 4:00 PM.

Sue Bull Barkett, 89, Vero Beach
September 6, 1932 – June 24, 2022
Sue Bull Barkett, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully, at home, on Thursday, June 24, 2022, at the age of 89.
Sue was born to Maude Seiler and Coates P. Bull ll, on September 6, 1932, in St. Paul Minnesota. She later moved to Greensboro, North Carolina with her family where she graduated from High School in 1950. She received her BS, in nursing in 1954 and her MSN in nursing in 1956, from Emory University. She worked at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, GA until she married, in 1959.
Sue Barkett moved to Vero Beach in 1965 with children and husband, Dr. George A. Barkett. Sue was an active member of her Vero Beach community. She was a charter member of the Rose Circle of the Garden Club of Indian River County. She was also a charter member of The Treasure Coast Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Strate, daughter Andrea Barkett, her husband Kirby Kenney, their three children, Samuel, Anna, Lily Smith, her husband Ian and their daughter, Ava. She also leaves behind her son, Douglas Barkett, his wife Rita and their daughter, Megan. Sue Barkett cherished all of her large, extended family and was loved by them in return. Her sisters and brothers -in-law, nieces and nephews gave her joy, pride and companionship.
She enjoyed working in her yard, arranging flowers, reading, learning, travel and entertaining.
Services will be held on Friday, July 1st, at 10:00 a.m., at the Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, 1950 20th Street Vero Beach, FL 32960. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Following the burial, the family will host a mercy meal at Trinity Episcopal Church, 2365 Pine Avenue, Vero Beach, Florida 32960

Thomas Luke Gallagher, 77, passed away on July 4th in Vero Beach, FL after a short illness. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline, a sister, Carol Tingley of Canisteo NY a brother, John of Jacksonville, Fl. He is also survived by 5 daughters, Christine (Kevin) Moleski of Syracuse, Kimberly (James) Colagiovanni of Cicero, Kathleen Gallagher of Cicero, Natalie Gallagher of Liverpool, and Jill (Brian) Rudnick of Syracuse and a step son Peter (Deanna) Smith of Warners, 9 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and in laws. Tom retired from Verizon in 1997 after more than 30 years of service as a truck driver, cable splicer and repairman. He was active in CWA union. He loved traveling and spending time with family and friends. The family will host friends at a Celebration of life on July 23 at the Blarney Stone in Syracuse, NY from 1-4.

VIOLA G. WEBER, 87, PASSED AWAY ON MAY 8TH, 2022 IN THE CARE OF ROCKLEDGE HOSPICE INPATIENT UNIT. SHE WAS THE WIFE OF CHARLES CLARENCE WEBER, JR. THEY SHARED 65 YEARS OF MARRIGE AND ENDLESS ADVENTURES TOGETHER.
VIOLA WAS BORN IN CENTRAL JERSEY AND WAS THE YOUNGEST OF 9 CHILDREN. SHE WAS THE DAUGHTER OF CHARLES AND JOSEPHINE GIORDANO. SHE GRADUATED FROM JAMESBURG HIGH SCHOOL IN 1953, EXCELLING IN MUSIC AND SINGING, WHICH SHE CARRIED WITH HER THROUGHOUT HER LIFE. SHE WAS THE HEAD BOOKKEEPER AND OFFICE MANAGER AT CIRCLE HARDWARE FROM 1952-1979 WHEN THE BUSINESS WAS SOLD. SHE THEN WENT TO WORK FOR THE NEW JERSEY TURNPIKE AUTHORITY AS A BOOK-KEEPER UNTIL SHE RETIRED IN 1962. VIOLA WAS ALSO A MARY KAY DISTRIBUTOR FOR SEVERAL YEARS.
IN 1995 THEY SOLD THEIR HOME IN THE HISTORICAL SECTION OF EAST BRUNSWICK NJ AND RELOCATED TO PUEBLO, COLORADO WHERE SHE THRIVED. SHE VISITED OVER 180 NATIONAL PARKS WITH HER HUSBAND IN HER LATER YEARS. SHE SHARED HER LOVE OF THIS COUNTRY AND THE BEAUTY OF AMERICA WITH HIM.
SHE WAS AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE RED HATS AND WAS THE LOCAL PRESIDENT OF THEIR CHAPTER. SHE BELONGED TO THE FRATERNAL ORDER OF THE EAGLES #145 IN PUEBLO FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND WAS A VERY ACTIVE MEMBER. SHE PARTICIPATED IN WEEKLY KARAOKE, DANCES AND VARIOUS GATHERINGS. SHE WAS A PART OF THE BINGO AUXILLARY AND ASSISTED WITH THE BACK-OFFICE DUTIES. SHE ALSO SANG IN THEIR SENIOR CHORUS GROUP, PROVIDING MUSICAL RESPITE TO THE LOCAL NURSING HOMES AND LONG-TERM CARE CENTERS. DUE TO HEALTH ISSUES VIOLA LEFT THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN STATE, RELUCTANTLY, AND RELOACATED TO FLORIDA IN 2013.
VIOLA FOUND HER LIFE IN FLORIDA TO BE RELAXING AND FUN. SHE SPENT HER LAST FEW YEARS AT CENTURY OAKS SENIOR LIVING FACILITY MINGLING AND ENJOYING HER COMMUNITY MEMBERS. SHE KEPT VERY BUSY SINGING, PLAYING BINGO, DOMINOES, CARDS AND JOINING THE FACILITY EVENTS. HER LIFE THERE WAS GRATIFYING AND SHE WAS ALWAYS READY TO JOIN THE FUN! THE FRIENDS SHE MADE WILL ALWAYS HOLD A SPECIAL PLACE IN OUR HEARTS. VIOLA WAS AN INTEGRAL PART OF CENTURY OAKS.
SHE WILL BE FOREVER REMEMBERED AS THE ‘SONGBIRD’, AND HER LOVE FOR SINGING, BINGO, SCRATCH OFFS, AND CASINOS! SHE RARELY WALKED AWAY WITHOUT WINNING! VIOLA WAS ONE LUCKY LADY.
SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER DAUGHTER CYNDEE WEBER ALVES AND HER HUSBAND (AND ONLY ‘SON’) EDWARD, SISTERS GLORIA GIORDANO AND MARIE GIORDANO, GRANDCHILDREN: PATRIK MALONE AND HIS WIFE SAMANTHA, MATTHEW MALONE AND HIS WIFE MIRANDA, KAILTLYN MALONE AND HER PARTNER RYAN, AND LUKAS ALVES. GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: SCARLETT, NOVA LEIGH AND PIPER MALONE.
SHE WAS PREDECEASED BY HER PARENTS, CHARLES AND JOSEPHINE GIORDANO, HUSBAND, CHARLES WEBER, AND DAUGHTER SANDRA WEBER-ZITKUS, AND MANY BROTHERS, SISTERS, AUNTS, UNCLES, NIECES, NEPHEWS, AND BELOVED FRIENDS.

Lionel Max “Liney” Winkler Jr., 88, Sebastian
October 21, 1933 – June 1, 2022
Liney was born in Groton, CT and joined the United States Navy at the age of 17. He met “the love of his life” while serving his country. When he was discharged, they married on July 18, 1959. They lived in Westerly, RI and then moved to Hollywood Florida in 1965 with three little girls in tow, with their fourth born two years later. Liney lived with five women and managed to stay sane. He worked many jobs to take care of his family. He was with the City of Hollywood for 26 years, retiring at 59 years of age.
During his retirement he enjoyed almost 30 years of family, friends and fun. He loved his church, First Baptist Church of Wabasso, where he was a Deacon. He loved living in Sebastian and everyone on their street thought so much of him. But his favorite accomplishment was being a loving, loyal husband, father to four daughters, grandfather to eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He is survived by “The Love of His Life” of almost 63 years Nila Smith-Winkler, daughters Debra Ivey, Donna Pandos, Diane Carr and Dana Gillis. Their spouses David, Bill, Brian and Kevin. All their children and all their grandchildren. There will be a memorial service on Monday June 13, 2022 at 2:00 pm. The service will be held at Seawinds Funeral Home in Sebastian, Florida.

Carmen Elizabeth Wilson, 91, Sebastian
March 20, 1931 – May 31, 2022
Carmen Elizabeth Wilson of Sebastian, Florida, a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend passed away after a brief hospice stay on Tuesday May 31, 2022.
She was born in Brown’s Town, Saint Ann, Jamaica on March 20, 1931, to parents Hubert and Edna Gordon. She was raised and educated in Jamaica where she pursued small business ventures before working as a stenographer and then a telephone operator for Jamaica Citrus Growers.
She immigrated to the United States in the late 1960s where she worked in the medical field in Massachusetts and then Connecticut until retirement. She moved to Sebastian Florida with her husband in 1980s. While in good health, she enjoyed helping the elderly and sick. She also loved gardening, cooking, and baking, particularly her famous Jamaican black cake. Most recently, she was a member of the Sebastian United Methodist Church.
Carmen is pre-deceased by her husband of 50 years Roy N Wilson, her son-in-law Douglas Francois, and her grandson Nyger Francois. She is survived by five children, Veronica Francois (Douglas) and Dennis Evans Jr., both of Sebastian FL; Marjorie Wilson of Manchester, CT; Trevor Wilson of Jamaica, WI; and Jacqueline Wilson Hogan (Greg) of Meriden, CT. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Christopher Francois, Lorraine Wilson English, and Savannah Hogan, two great- grandchildren Camrin and Caydin Francois, and a host of relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held Friday June 10, 2022, 1:00 PM, at the Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home.

Marilyn Alice Hagan Coyne, 96, Sebastian

Marilyn Alice Hagan Coyne, 96, passed peacefully at home in Sebastian, FL on June 11, 2022.
Born September 4, 1925, in Boston, MA, she was raised in Somerville. It was there that she met and married the love of her life, Edward James Coyne. Marilyn and Ed began a family and moved to Lexington, MA where they would raise their five children. Marilyn happily took on the role of mother and homemaker until the untimely death of her husband in 1958. In order to support her family Marilyn began a career in the cosmetics field at Filene’s which eventually led to the job she loved most of all, managing Colonial Stores in Lexington.
Upon retiring Marilyn spent time living in Centerville, MA, Naples, FL, Sagamore Beach, MA, and Sebastian, FL. While living in Sagamore Beach Marilyn was a valued member of two groups that met in Sandwich on Mondays and Osterville on Fridays. She made many cherished friends in those halls. She also made many great friends in her Sagamore Highlands neighborhood. In her final home at Park Place in Sebastian she did her best to stay active in her community and enjoyed the support of many fine friends. Marilyn was an avid reader. She also enjoyed painting, knitting and shopping. But most of all she enjoyed spending time in the company of family and friends who fondly remember her as GG. She will be missed by so many.
Marilyn is predeceased by her husband Edward J Coyne; her parents, James Edward Hagan and Alice May Cameron Johnson, and her step father Samuel Bennett Robertson. She sadly lost her devoted son, Robert Edward Coyne, ten days before her own death. Marilyn passed away on the 33rd anniversary of the passing of her beloved grandson Carter Scott Lyman. She is also predeceased by her son-in-law Robert Spalding with whom she lived in Sagamore and shared a special relationship.
GG is survived by four daughters: Susan Spalding, Linda Lyman, Marilyn (Pixie) Coyne and Cyndi Coyne. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren: Robert (Sharlene), Tracy (Robert), Kelly (Roger), David, Kerry, Sean, Ashley, Courtney (Clayton), Keston (Mia), Samantha (Jed), Christopher (Erika), Lindsay (Erik) and Theo (Melanie). There are nineteen great grandchildren: Michael (Jackie), Danielle, Emma (Chris), Quinn, Braegan, Darcy, Clayton, Austin, Slater, Addison, Ryder, Sutton, Ledger, Xavier, Asmeda, Shannon, David, Harper and Boston. And remarkably there are also two great-great grandchildren: Hendrix and Mateo. She is also survived by her Canadian cousins Anne, Lorna and Doreen.
Marilyn will be laid to rest beside her husband, Ed Coyne, in Westview Cemetery, Lexington, MA.

Scott Silva, 70, Sebastian
March 18, 1952 – June 13, 2022
Scott Silva passed away peacefully at his home in Sebastian, Florida on June 13, 2022 at the age of 70.
Born in Scotia, New York where he graduated from Scotia-Glenville High School in 1970. While growing up in New York, Scott worked with his family at the Silva Restaurant. Scott became employed in the construction industry after graduation until he moved his young family to Sebastian, Florida in 1981. He established the successful Highland Homes construction and roofing company where he contributed to the early development of the Sebastian community.
Scott’s generosity, humility, and work ethic allowed him to be a natural leader and mentor to his employees over the years. Scott was an avid NASCAR fan and traveled around the country with his friends to enjoy the live races.
Scott is survived by his loving wife of 47 years SueAnn, his son Jason, daughter Jennifer, their spouses Paige Mohler Silva and David Rinker, and his five grandchildren: Joseph, Ella, Madison, Baylee, and David. Scott will also be missed by his sister Lori, brother Brian and Brian’s wife Nancy McCLung, sister-in-law Gina Politi, six nieces and nephews, two cousins, Aunt Judy & Uncle Al Van Horn, Uncle Wil & Valerie Wakely. He was preceded in death by his loving parents Chuck & Joyce Silva and his brother Gregg.
A memorial service to celebrate Scott’s life will be held at Seawinds Funeral Home 735 S. Fleming St Sebastian, on July 7th from 5:00- 6:30pm, with a reception to follow.

Annmarie Sophia Keneyon, 46
August 5, 1975 – June 2, 2022
It is with great sadness that we are commemorating the life of Annmarie Sophia Keneyon affectionally known as Staceya, who has suddenly departed from our presence on the faithful day of June 2nd 2022. Annmarie (Stacey) was born on August 5th, 1975 in Kingston Jamaica to mother Joyce Mais Gentles and father Winston Kenyon. Stacey was a committed mother to three wonderful children Frank, Kimeshia, and Jayden Stacy also left behind her loving brothers Garfield, Damian, Sefton, Brenton and her sister Simone along with Nephews and nieces, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins and dear friends. Stacey was known to be a hard worker, exceptional customer service provider, a strong woman and compassionate care giver to her patients, a dedicated enthusiastic and respected individual known for her diligence and dedication. Stacey was a self-motivated woman with a drive to succeed in everything she did. She stood tall like a giant in her own domain, walked with authority and purpose looked with the bright attentive eyes like an eagle, and now flew away at the dawn of day like a dove soaring above the clouds.
Our final opportunity to see Stacey will be a viewing at the Seawinds Funeral Home, Sebastian Florida on Friday June 24th 2022. The memorial service for Annmarie (Stacy) will be held at the St. Peter’s Missionary Baptist Church Gifford, Florida, USA. The memorial service will be livestream. Immediately following the memorial service there will be a repass at the school auditorium (adjacent to the church). All are welcome to join the family as we honor the life of our beloved Annmarie Sophia Staceya Kenyon.
Stacy, we believe you have left too soon. We will miss that explosive laughter great sense of humor and sharp no nonsense demeanor and arguments.

Leocadia Bartolo Vazquez, o Leo cómo todos sus familiares y amigos la conocimos, fue a reunirse con el creador el 8 de Junio de 2022 a los 45 años de edad. Nacida en el pequeño poblado de El Durazno, en el Estado de Guerrero, México.
Leo emigró a los Estados Unidos para apoyar a su hijo y a sus padres que le sobreviven. En los campos de tomate y naranja los que compartimos su compañía recordaremos su arduo trabajo, su incondicional amistad, y sus risas. Siempre de buen humor, siempre dispuesta a ayudar al mas necesitado.
