The Indian River Symphonic Association patrons will be busy the next few days with a couple of concerts, which promise to be sell-outs. First, it’s famed virtuoso violinist Joshua Bell and the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields in performance Thursday, March 3. Bell, a most likable and talented violinist, has performed with major orchestras around the world. His performances have an infectious fun about them. Bell is the musician who has the viral video of him performing anonymously on his Stradivarius in the busy metro stop in Washington, D.C. (youtube.com/watch?v=hnOPu0_YWhw). He conducts and is the music director of the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets, if you can get them, are $100. The IRSA also presents the New World Symphony with conductor Stéphane Denève on Sunday, March 6. It is a rarity to be able to hear this renowned orchestra outside of Miami. The program includes Haydn’s “Sinfonia Concertante” in B-flat major, the second movement of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7, Simon’s “Fate Now Conquers,” and Debussy’s “Nuage et Fêtes” and “Iberia.” The concert begins at 7 p.m. Tickets to that concert are $85. Both concerts will be held at the Community Church of Vero Beach, 2801 23rd St. Doors open an hour ahead of time. Call 772-778-1070 or visit IRSymphonic.org.

Although it’s not as “super-secret” as suggested, the Vero Beach Film Fest’s “Cinema de la Mer: The White Party” returns Thursday, March 3. This is the otherwise “clandestine” cinematic celebration which benefits the film festival. The idea here is to wear all white, and bring your own picnic supper and fine china. Not only that, but you get the privilege of decorating your own table, with prizes going to the best tablescape. You get to do this for $100 per person. But that’s OK, because it all benefits the film festival. Moreover, the Film Fest organizers will provide music, entertainment and white wine. This fun event is so secret you won’t even know where it is until you register, which you need to do online at VBFilmFest.org/the-white-party. Past White Party venues have included on the beach, at the fountain plaza at Royal Palm Pointe, and even on the runway at Vero Beach Airport. The event runs from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. For more information, call 772-444-2827.

The timing couldn’t be better to attend Riverside Theatre’s Distinguished Lecturer Series when it brings to town finance expert Rana Foroohar, global business columnist for the Financial Times and global economic analyst at CNN. Foroohar writes the “Swamp Notes” newsletter which covers “money and power in Trump’s America” and profiles important figures including Warren Buffett, Howard Shultz and Carl Icahn. She will hold two lectures, one at 4 p.m. and the second at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 7 in the Stark Stage venue at Riverside Theatre, 3250 Riverside Dr., Vero Beach. There will also be a simulcast in the adjacent Waxlax Stage venue. For more information, including ticket prices, call 772-231-6990 or visit RiversideTheatre.com.
