INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 60-year-old motorist will face a judge next month after a chase that ended with her crashing through a gate and driving onto Grand Harbor golf course. Sheriff’s officials released dashboard camera footage this week showing golfers running out of the path of the woman’s truck as it rolled across the course Tuesday.

The incident began about 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Waterford Lakes Community, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies tried to pull over a dark-colored truck – driven by Harvey – but she continued driving, authorities said.

The reason why deputies were trying to pull the truck over was not immediately available.

Harvey traveled about seven miles north to the Grand Harbor Golf and Beach Club complex, located off Indian River Boulevard and southeast of 53rd Street. Deputies said Harvey slammed through the gate and onto the golf course.

A deputy used a silver unmarked sheriff’s vehicle to bump the rear right side of Harvey’s truck, which disabled the vehicle, dashboard footage showed. Deputies arrested Harvey and booked her into the county jail.

The reason Harvey evaded deputies was unclear.
