Bruce Barrick, 67, Vero Beach

September 17, 1954 – October 28, 2021

On October 28, Bruce Barrick passed away in his home in Vero Beach, Florida.  He was 67 years old.

Bruce was born September 17, 1954, in Schenectady, New York. He was a graduate of Wellesley High School class of 1971.  Bruce attended college in Vermont where he played soccer and received an Associate’s Degree in Business.

After graduation, he worked for Fell’s Taxi in Wellesley for Peter Wells and drove the senior citizen’s bus for many years.

In 1980, he moved to Jupiter, Florida where he worked for Mosler Associates as a Bonds Trader.  He retired in 1986.  He then moved to Vero Beach, Florida and enjoyed Surfing and walking his dogs on the beach.

He is survived by his brother, Richard Barrick and his wife Kathy.  He was also survived by his only nephew, Thomas Barrick, his wife Nicole and their three children; Sofie, David, and Quinn.  He was preceded in death by his parents Boyd and Mabel Barrick, who formerly lived in Wellesley Massachusetts.

Geraldine Smith, 79, Vero Beach

June 09, 1942 – October 29, 2021

Geraldine Smith, 79 of Vero Beach, passed away on October 29, 2021 at home. She was born on June 9, 1942 in Jersey City, NJ to Fortunato and Rose DeSimone.

Survivors include her sons, Robert Smith of Vero Beach, Jimmie Smith and Jamie Smith, both of Inverness, Florida; grandchildren, Camile Welchel of Vero Beach, Kaitlyn Smith and Gabriella Smith, both of Inverness, Florida; sisters, Joyce Roth of Mashpee, MA, Gail Lagomarsion from Vernon Township, NY and Debra Traugot of Roanoke, VA.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Friday, November 5, 2021 with a Prayer Service to be held at 12:00 at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
