12th Street reopen after crews repair water main break

Update:

A portion of 12th Street has reopened after being closed Saturday for repairs to a water main break, Indian River County sheriff’s officials said Monday.

The county Utilities Department repaired the water main, sheriff’s officials said. Authorities closed 12th Street between 16th and 20th avenues as crews worked to repair the break.

The exact time the roadway reopened was unavailable.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Authorities closed a portion of 12th Street following a water main break that was reported Saturday afternoon, deputies said.

Indian River County deputies said 12th Street between 16th and 20th avenues was closed as crews worked to repair the break. The location is just south of Vero Beach Elementary School.

It was unclear when the roadway was expected to reopen.

Electric crews went to the area to locate the powerline that runs next to the water main, sheriff’s officials said. Motorists should avoid the area, deputies said.

Sheriff’s officials were expected to give an update when 12th Street reopens.
