VERO BEACH — Youth Sailing Foundation competitors took the top slots in Sunday’s seventh-annual Steve Martin Regatta, held south of the 17th Street Bridge in the Indian River Lagoon.

The event was held from 12:30 p.m. to about 4 p.m., Sailing Director Mary Morgan said. Youth from various age groups participated in different boat categories for the event, including the “420,” “Feva,” “Open Bic,” “Opti Gold,” and “Opti Silver.”

The Regatta attracts young sailing teams from Daytona Beach to Miami, authorities said. More than 50 boats sail on courses in the Intracoastal Waterway.

Young Sailing Foundation sailed in all categories except for the “Open Bic.”

Denali Herold and Luke Franco, both 15 and on the varsity team, ranked first place in the “420” class. Rayne Herold, 13, came in first place for the “Opti Gold” class.

Alexander Delamarter, 12, came in first place for the “Opti Silver” class. Ashton Evers, 12, and Jaxon Ellig, 13, junior varsity, ranked second place for the “Feva” class.
