Indian River County verified 25 new COVID-19 cases Friday, according to the Florida Department of Health county report. This raises the total amount of county cases to 11,629, while the death toll remained at 278.

The numbers in the reports are provisional and subject to change. Health officials said 116 out of the 278 Indian River County deaths were at long-term care facilities.

There have been 816 COVID-19 hospitalizations in Indian River County, health officials said. The number of hospitalizations and county cases are both cumulative.

There were seven people still hospitalized as of Friday, according to the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration.

For the Indian River County cases among residents, 7,908 were white, 1,132 were black, 1,039 were listed as “other” and 1,451 were listed as “unknown.”

Statewide, the number of COVID-19 cases increased to 2,033,179, health officials said. The number of virus-related deaths increased to 33,756.

There have been 813 COVID-19 hospitalizations in Indian River County, health officials said. The number of hospitalizations and county cases are both cumulative.

There were 10 people still hospitalized as of Thursday, according to the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration.

For the Indian River County cases among residents, 7,891 were white, 1,127 were black, 1,037 were listed as “other” and 1,450 were listed as “unknown.”

Statewide, the number of COVID-19 cases increased to 2,027,429, health officials said. The number of virus-related deaths increased to 33,589.
