March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction names co-chairs

March of Dimes is pleased to announce that Tim and Rachel Carroll, mission parents, will serve as co-chairs for the 2019 Vero Beach Signature Chefs Auction. As the event co-chairs, the Carroll’s are playing an integral role in raising awareness and funds to advance the scientific research and educational programs at the core of March of Dimes efforts to lead the fight for the health of all moms and babies.

As parents of a now 4-year-old daughter born too early at just 24-weeks, the Carroll’s are dedicated to the March of Dimes mission to fight for healthy moms and strong babies.

They are also experienced volunteer leaders with the organization, having been the top family team in the 2018 Indian River March for Babies, in addition to also chairing the 2018 Signature Chefs Auction.

“We are so honored to again be serving as the co-chairs for the Signature Chefs Auction to benefit March of Dimes,” said the Carrolls. “This event offers the unique opportunity to experience the diverse culinary talent in Vero Beach while celebrating and supporting a great cause. We are thrilled and honored to be working with a group of generous volunteers and gifted chefs who are committed to our mission to lead the fight for the health of all moms and babies.”

March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction will be held on Monday, Dec. 9 at Quail Valley River Club. This annual event features talented chefs from all over the Vero Beach area. It’s an exclusive evening designed to satisfy the most demanding palate while benefiting the March of Dimes as they lead the fight for the health of all moms and babies.

Participating Chefs include Chef Scott Varricchio of Citrus, Chef Armando Galeas of The Wave, Chef Tibor Andrejszky of Citron Bistro, Chef Bob Getchell of The Boathouse Disney Springs, Chef Tom Lund of BigShots Golf, Chef Winston Guerrero-Pena of Cobalt, Chef Percy Tercero of Kyle G’s Prime Seafood & Steaks, and more to be announced.

The United States is in the midst of a maternal and child health crisis, with more than 380,000 babies born prematurely each year, as well as more than 50,000 women experiencing life-threatening complications as a result of pregnancy and childbirth. March of Dimes is working in communities across the country to reduce the rising rates of premature birth, as well as maternal mortality and morbidity, supporting women before, during and after pregnancy to ensure all moms and babies are healthy.

Honest stories of pregnancy, parenting and loss are too often left unshared. To fill this void, March of Dimes launched #UnspokenStories, a supportive community that gives voice to all experiences around these issues. This initiative aims to provide women, men and families a platform to connect and speak honestly. For more information and to share your story, please visit UnspokenStories.org.
