Toss Out Child Abuse Charity cornhole tournament set for March 10

The Exchange Club of Indian River Foundation’s Second Annual Toss Out Child Abuse: Charity Cornhole Tournament will be held Saturday, March 10, at Walking Stick Brewery, 3209 Dodger Road, Vero Beach.

An hour of practice and onsite registration begins at 11 a.m. Don’t know how to play cornhole? You can learn how during the practice hour.

The double elimination tournament begins at Noon. Each team of two will play a minimum of three games. The cost is $40 for a team of two players. To guarantee participation, register in advance online at http://www.exchangeclubofindianriver.org/cornhole.

A total payout of $1,000 prize money will be awarded.

New this year, entrants will participate in one of two ability levels that will be determined by the results of qualifying rounds.

The event features tantalizing auction items, a 50/50 raffle, and the top-rated Grill On food truck for purchase of appetizing items. One hundred percent of the sales of a 10-gallon firkin keg of handcrafted limited-edition beer named TOCA will be created especially for the tournament and donated by Walking Tree Brewery to the foundation.

All proceeds from the event, including a percentage of all other beer sold during the tournament donated by Walking Tree, benefit local projects for the prevention of child abuse.

John Pertile of bagboards.net from St. Petersburg will manage the double-elimination tournament, handle onsite registration, and serve as master of ceremonies. Custom cornhole sets will be available for purchase.

Early sponsors include MBV Engineering, Edlund Dritenbas Binkley Architects, National Bank of Commerce, Trusted Insurance Professionals, Charlotte Terry Real Estate Group of Alex MacMillan, Armfield-Wagner, The Ostrom Group, Schlitt Services, an anonymous donor, and others.

Sponsorships are available for just $100, $250, and $500. All $500 sponsors will receive a custom-made cornhole set that features their corporate logo or any other image or design they choose. Donations of any amount are also welcome. All information about sponsorship can be found at the website, http://www.exchangeclubofindianriver.org/howtosponsor or from any club member.
