INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Plunging temperatures have led a cold night shelter for the homeless and needy to keep its doors open through the weekend, emergency services officials said.
The Source, which opened its doors as a shelter on Wednesday, will stay open through noon on Saturday. The shelter is located at 1015 Commerce Avenue, just west of U.S. 1 and south of 12th Street.
Guests should plan to arrive before 10 p.m. and are accepted on a first come first serve basis. A meal will be served each evening and regular operating hours will resume Saturday, officials said.
Monetary donations and food items are needed at the shelter. For more information, call the shelter at 717-435-2312.
