Treasure Coast Food Bank helping those facing hunger

For the sixth consecutive year, Bank of America has joined with Treasure Coast Food Bank and the Feeding America network to fight hunger through its annual Give A Meal campaign.

For every $1 donated, Bank of America Charitable Foundation will give $2 more – up to $1.5 million.

Through the campaign, the public can help Treasure Cost Food Bank end hunger for more than 100,000 children and adults in Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin and Okeechobee counties.

“Bank of America and its local employees have shown incredible dedication to helping us solve hunger on the Treasure Coast and nationwide,” said Judith Cruz, President and CEO of Treasure Coast Food Bank. “The Give A Meal campaign helps provide us with the resources we need to change the lives of people struggling with hunger. Our local Bank of America employees also have supported us with their time as volunteers, and we’re thankful to have them as partners.”

Bank of America was a shift sponsor at Treasure Coast Food Bank’s 3rd Annual Pack the House event in October, and employees have helped sort and pack non-perishable food in Treasure Coast Food Bank’s warehouse.

Eliminating hunger is a critical first step on a path to economic empowerment for people in need, which is why Bank of America has partnered with Feeding America and its 200 partner food banks in the Give A Meal campaign.

Last year, the Give A Meal campaign resulted in nearly $12,000 to Treasure Coast Food Bank – enough to supply more than 93,000 meals, Cruz said. The 2017 campaign continues through the end of the year.

“Anyone who is considering a donation to Treasure Coast Food Bank can triple the gift by doing so through the Give A Meal campaign, Cruz said.
