INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The county School Board has approved three Hurricane Irma make-up days, according to School District officials.
A decision was made at the board meeting on Tuesday night. A committee of community members and employees came up with the conclusion based on what would best benefit students.
Students missed seven days because of Hurricane Irma. The following days that will be used for make-up are Nov. 22, 2017, Dec. 21, 2017, and April 2, 2018.
The extra instructional minutes that are part of the District’s regular school day absorbed two of the days. Then, Gov. Rick Scott waived two more days, which left the District with three remaining days to make up.
