Women’s Refuge receives $5,000 grant award from Christ Church

VERO BEACH – The Women’s Refuge recently received a $5,000 grant award from Christ Church to fund its residential and community counseling programs. The Refuge is one of Indian River County’s leading Christian organizations supporting hurting women and families.
“It is such a blessing to know that our community stands with us in holding up godly principles,” said founder Donna Lee Robart. “Since we do not receive government funding, we rely greatly on the prayers and financial gifts from our supporters to help us continue our mission.”
Rich Steinbach, an Outreach Committee chair, said that part of Christ Church’s mission is to support Christian organizations locally, nationally and internationally.
“We feel it’s our Christian responsibility to assist missions that share in our beliefs and to help those in need. We are blessed to be able to present this grant to the Women’s Refuge, and to support the resources they provide to women in crisis,” he said.
Serving the Treasure Coast since 1997, Women’s Refuge of Vero Beach offers a unique, spiritual approach to care for the emotionally and spiritually wounded. Through their one-on-one biblical counseling, their residential and non-residential programs, hurting women and families can find a new purpose with hope and direction for their lives.
