(StatePoint) With Mother’s Day right around the corner, you may be thinking of the best ways to celebrate. It’s helpful to know how others are honoring the day.

Did you know that only 20 percent of those surveyed by the National Retail Federation plan to buy gifts for their mothers or stepmothers? Grandmothers, friends, godmothers, wives, sisters and other relatives get honored by Mother’s Day celebrants, too.

While flowers and greeting cards remain the most popular items purchased for the occasion, for many, there is still pressure to find the perfect gift. High up on the list of most popular gift ideas for mom are clothing and jewelry, according to the new survey.

Stumped over what to get mom? Consider jewelry that is both useful and attractive, such as a watch. These days there are many timeless, stylish designs and accessories to complement Mom’s wardrobe, such as those from the collection of Vintage Timepieces from Casio.

Most importantly, remember to carve out time for your Mother’s Day honorees. Whether it’s a phone call, a special outing or a spa day together, remember that what moms really want is quality time with you.
