Martin J. Healy, 75, of Vero Beach, passed away on Sept. 23, 2016.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Theresa (Terry) Healy of Vero Beach; daughter Cheryl (David) McManus of West Greenwich, R.I.; son Mark (Nancy) Healy of North Providence, R.I.; sister Kathy Laurie of Pawtucket, R.I.; and grandchildren Daniel and John McManus, Johnathon, Meghan and Erin Healy.
He was preceded in death by a brother Dennis Healy.
Healy was born in Central Falls, R.I., and was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret Healy. He moved to Vero Beach 10 years ago from Pawtucket, R.I.
He served in the US Coast Guard during the Vietnam War Era and earned his
Bachelor’s degree from Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I.
He retired as a Lieutenant from the Pawtucket Fire Department.
He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach and had been a member of St. Leo the Great Church in Pawtucket. Martin was a member of the Elks Lodge, and former member of the Moose and the Veteran’s Club in Vero Beach. He was a member of the Coast Guard Radiomen’s Association and served on the Pawtucket School Committee as an elected official.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pawtucket on Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, followed by interment at Exeter National Cemetery in Exeter, R.I.
