John David “Well Digger” Howard, 61, of Vero Beach, passed away on Sept. 16, 2016.
He is survived by his wife Adele Howard of 32 years; and children David Howard, Jr (Cindy) and Michael Howard (Melissa), from former marriage to Debbie Bryant, Krystal Howard, John Ross Howard (Tina), Casey Howard and stepson James Moore with current wife Adele Howard. He also is survived by many beloved grandchildren; his mother Ann Howard; siblings Debbie Dobeck, Karen Mansfield, James Howard (Kim), Thomas Howard; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Howard was preceded in death by his father Hoyt Howard, Sr., brother Hoyt Howard, Jr, and lifelong best friend Troy “Moondog” Moody.
He was born to Ann Howard and late Hoyt Howard, Sr. in Winter Haven, Fla., on Aug. 3, 1955. They later moved to Vero Beach where the Howard family resided and raised their own families. He attended St. Helens and Vero Beach High School.
Howard had become a respected well driller of Indian River County while working at McCullers Well Drilling where he later became owner/operator of Reliable Well Drilling for many years. He was a devoted catholic, fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed anything involving the outdoors including his home away from home River Ranch in Polk County, Fla.
Services will be held on Oct. 1, 2016, at The Village Marina 396 Torpey Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34946 at 5 p.m.
