Robert Albert Platiau, 69, of Sebastian, passed away on Sept. 9, 2016.
He is survived by his wife Patrice of Sebastian; brothers Roger Platiau of Woonsocket, R.I. and Paul Platiau, Friensville, Tenn.; sister Rachel Platiau of Woonsocket, R.I.; stepsons Jason David Camp of Jessup, Md., Joseph Oliver Camp, of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., and Jack Maier Camp of Vero Beach; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother Roland Platiau.
Platiau was born in Woonsocket, R.I., and lived in Sebastian for three years coming from Gaithersburg, Md.
He was a US Air Force veteran and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant while serving in Vietnam.
He retired as a Telecommunications Engineer and worked for Rock City Garden after his retirement.
Platiau was a member of VFW Post #10210, Sebastian, and was a mentor for the Indian River County 4-H Safe Shooters. He was also a NRA Certified Pistol instructor.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Sept. 15, 2016, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian, FL with Military Honors being conducted by the Sebastian Area Veterans Honor Guard.
