Vero man faces life in prison after murder indictment

FORT PIERCE — A Vero Beach man faces life in prison after a grand jury in St. Lucie County indicted him on a first-degree murder charge stemming from a fatal shooting early this year.

Jimmy Reed III, of Vero Beach, has been in the St. Lucie County Jail since his arrest in February in connection to the fatal shooting of a man in Ft. Pierce outside a convenience store.

Killed in the shooting was Laborious Works, according to authorities.

Reed, 25, was also indicted on charges of firearm and ammunition possession by a felon. He had previously been convicted for cocaine possession.
