Fatal crash victim identified

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The man who died in a  crash that closed roadways at State Road 60 and 74th Avenue has been identified.

Florida Highway Patrol was dispatched around 4:35 a.m., according to their website. 

Jose Barbaro Cotera-Muniz, 24, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., was wearing his seat belt when he was involved in the crash, according to FHP.

His 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK 350 was heading westbound on SR 60 when he lost control and left the roadway and struck several trees, according to authorities. The vehicle caught fire and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
